Abstract:
Abstract:
A method and system for controlling the idle speed of an internal combustion engine (10) includes an adjustment responsive to a steering wheel angle sensor (120) or a steering wheel torque sensor (122). The steering wheel angle sensor (120) and the steering wheel torque sensor (122) predict a power steering pump torque requirement which is used to minimise engine speed fluctuations.
Abstract:
A vehicle speed control system comprises a vehicle speed controller (14) and an auxiliary engine speed controller (17) which keeps to the engine speed set by the first controller (14) and which controls the amount of fuel and/or air supplied to the vehicle engine. A comparator (13) compares actual and desired vehicle speed signals and is connected to the first controller (14), which produces a desired engine speed signal which is compared (16) with the actual engine speed signal from a sensor (21).
Abstract:
An emergency throttle limiter (20) is disclosed for a top speed limiting governor (10) of a vehicle. The governor is of the type which comprises an overriding throttle closing device for moving the throttle to a position for limiting the engine speed to a governed value. A brake (42) is provided for arresting the throttle closing device against movement in the open throttle direction and an electromagnet (93) maintains the brake (42) in a released condition as long as electrical power is supplied to the governor (10). When the power supply is interrupted, the electromagnet (93) is deenergized and allows the brake (42) to be engaged to arrest the overriding throttle control device against movement in the open throttle direction.
Abstract:
An apparatus and a method for controlling engine RPM (Revolutions Per Minute) for a construction machine are disclosed, which can compulsorily decrease the engine RPM when an air filter clogging signal is generated. The method for controlling engine RPM for a construction machine including an engine, an air filter, an air filter clogging switch, an engine electronic control unit (E-ECU), and a vehicle electronic control unit (V-ECU), includes determining whether the air filter is clogged in accordance with a signal from the air filter clogging switch, continuously accumulating an engine operating time without initializing the engine operating time even if an engine start is turned off after the air filter clogging signal is generated, determining whether the air filter is repaired or replaced if the accumulated engine operating time exceeds a predetermined time after the air filter clogging signal is generated, applying a control signal from the V-ECU to the E-ECU to compulsorily decrease the engine RPM to predetermined RPM if the air filter is not repaired or replaced in a state where the accumulated engine operating time exceeds the predetermined time, and decreasing the engine RPM to the predetermined RPM in accordance with the control signal that is applied from the E-ECU to an engine driving unit.
