    摘要: The invention relates to a multifilar helix antenna (1) comprising a wave feed and polarizing section (2) comprising a cover portion (3) comprising a through opening (4). The antenna (1) comprises a helix radiator (5) comprising three or more resonant helical elements (6) evenly distributed about an imaginary circle. Each helical element (6) extends in a longitudinal direction (Z) from the feed and polarizing section (2) through the opening (4) in the cover portion (3) and wound to form the helix radiator (5). Each helical element (6) comprises one or a plurality of wave perturbations (7) separated in the longitudinal direction (Z) and that each set of perturbations are positioned at the same level in the longitudinal direction (Z) to yield an equivalent array of stacked helical radiators, wherein the cover portion (3) comprises a rotationally symmetric corrugated assembly (8).

    摘要: A dielectric hollow antenna apparatus includes a hollow inside tapered rod (e.g., a waveguide) with a flat section and a cap. The antenna further includes a feed through section, a feed pin, and a metal flange. A low loss dielectric material fills the hollow rod that protrudes beyond the metal waveguide to form a radiating element. The radiating element is designed in such a way to maximize radiation and minimize reflections over the antenna bandwidth. The feed through section reduces internal reflection and the waveguide is designed to include a rectangular waveguide that support a propagation (TE01) mode and the waveguide then transitions to a circular waveguide that supports another propagation (TE11) mode. The antennas can be employed for radar level gauging and withstand high temperature and possesses a small diameter that permits the antenna to fit in small tank nozzles.

    摘要: An electronically-controlled steerable beam antenna with suppressed parasitic scattering includes a feed line defining an axis x; and first and second arrays of electronically-controlled switchable scatters distributed along the axis x, each of the scatterers in the first and second arrays being switchable between a high state and a low state to scatter an electromagnetic wave propagating through the transmission line so as to form a steerable antenna beam. Each of the scatters of the second array is configured to be 180°-phase-shifted relative to a corresponding scatter of the first array. The switchable scatterers of the first and second arrays are configured into high states and low states relative to each other so as to suppress parasitic scattering of the electromagnetic wave without suppressing the steerable antenna beam.

    摘要: Leaky wave antennas that can be reconfigured in pattern and/or polarization by exploiting the characteristic of metamaterial structures loaded with variable capacitor and inductors employ a Composite Right Left Handed (CRLH) unit cell with two independent DC biases used to actively change the group delay of the transmission line and the polarization of the radiated field while preserving good impedance matching. Different degrees of pattern and polarization reconfigurability are achieved by cascading multiple of these unit cells along a straight line, a circular line or a zigzag line while preserving high gain for all the antenna configurations and good impedance matching.
