    摘要: The present invention makes it possible to prevent feedback loops from causing oscillations in clamp circuits. When a video signal is input through a capacitor into a first inverting input terminal of an operational amplifier, the output terminal tends to go high level because the potential of the first inverting input terminal is lower than the potential of the non-inverting input terminal to which the black level reference signal is input. Thereby the NPN transistor whose base is connected to the output terminal is turned on to charge the capacitor. When the charging of the capacitor approaches completion, the potential of the first inverting input terminal becomes higher than the potential of the second inverting input terminal. Consequently, the second inverting input terminal takes priority, and the feedback loop is switched from the first feedback loop connecting the output terminal and the first inverting input terminal to the second feedback loop connecting output terminal and the second inverting input terminal. Any load-carrying capacity does not appear in the output because the capacitor is not connected to the second feedback loop, thus it becomes possible to prevent feedback loops from causing oscillations.

    摘要: A digital control technique for automatically obtaining lock on an analog video signal, and identifying the sync tip and back porch levels, by adjusting gain and offset. Pixel samples for each scan line are obtained from the output of an analog-to-digital converter (112) and fed back to a microprocessor (120) running a control program which provides digital control of gain and offset. After gain and offset are adjusted to obtain lock, a fine adjustment mode is entered during which gain and offset are adjusted to obtain the desired sync tip height and back porch levels.

    摘要: An auxiliary video information decoder for extracting an auxiliary video information signal from a video signal includes a data slicer (230) and apparatus (220) for adjusting the slicing level of the data slicer (230). The slicing level is adjusted rapidly until a reference component of the auxiliary information signal is detected during a display interval of the video signal in which auxiliary video information is expected to occur. A count is incremented after display intervals in which the reference component is detected and is decremented after display intervals in which the reference component is not detected. Slicing level adjustment ceases while the count is at least a predetermined number. The apparatus rapidly adapts the slicing level to long-term video signal amplitude changes of significant magnitude (e.g. following a channel change) and maintains a constant slicing level when transient variations occur in the video signal amplitude.

    摘要: In the television broadcasting system called letter box method, it is proposed to transmit an image having a larger aspect ratio than that of the existing broadcasting system by using some of the scanning lines of the existing broadcasting system, and transmit some additional information signal in the remaining portion. An offset value applied to the additional information signal at the transmission side must be removed completely at the reception side. Accordingly, at the reception side, in the scanning line in which an offset reference signal indicative of the offset value is transmitted, the offset reference value and a DC level reference value of the scanning line are detected, and these values are retained until a next offset reference signal is detected. By detecting a DC level of a scanning line containing the additional information signal, a difference from the DC level reference value previously detected and retained is obtained, and the offset reference value detected and retained previously is corrected by this difference. Thus obtained offset value is subtracted from the transmitted additional information signal.
