    摘要: In the method for cleaning a large tank, a volumetric flow of gas is extracted by suction from the gas chamber (34) of the large tank (20) and burned in a combustion chamber system (48). At least part of the exhaust gas thereby produced is returned by way of an exhaust-gas line (60, 62) into the gas chamber (34), in which a subatmospheric pressure is maintained. By way of a suction-extraction line (73), a mass flow of residual sump matter (30) is removed from the large tank (20) and fed to a heat exchanger (56), which is connected by way of a circuit (54) to a heating coil (52) of the combustion chamber system (48). The heated mass flow of residual sump matter (30) is directed into the large tank (20) under a high pressure of at least 20 bar onto a partial region of the mass of residual sump matter (30) that is in the large tank (20) through injection nozzles (24) that end in the gas chamber (34) and are directed onto the residual sump matter (30). When this happens, the mass of residual sump matter (30) that is in the large tank (20) is gradually moved, heated and agitated, thereby forming aerosols, which are a constituent of the gas in the gas chamber (34) and are extracted by suction as a volumetric flow by way of the gas line (32).

    摘要: An apparatus for raising and lowering a cutting tool within a decoking drum, a decoking system and a method of raising and lowering a decoking system cutting tool. Instead of using metallic ropes, chains, or a self-propelled gear-based approach, non-metallic belts are secured at respective ends to a crosshead and one or more counterweights to enable vertical movement of the crosshead that in turn permits vertical movement of the cutting tool throughout the height of the drum. A motorized pulley system controls the movement of the belt, and preferably avoids having the motor be carried by the crosshead. The belts on each pulley are preferably arranged as cooperative sets so that within each set, both primary load belts and secondary load belts are present. Enhanced engagement between at least the primary load belts and the pulleys promotes greater load-bearing capability, while the secondary load belts are sufficiently strong to ensure positional stability of the crosshead and decoking tool upon damage to or failure of one or more of the primary load belts.
