In the method for cleaning a large tank, a volumetric flow of gas is extracted by suction from the gas chamber (34) of the large tank (20) and burned in a combustion chamber system (48). At least part of the exhaust gas thereby produced is returned by way of an exhaust-gas line (60, 62) into the gas chamber (34), in which a subatmospheric pressure is maintained. By way of a suction-extraction line (73), a mass flow of residual sump matter (30) is removed from the large tank (20) and fed to a heat exchanger (56), which is connected by way of a circuit (54) to a heating coil (52) of the combustion chamber system (48). The heated mass flow of residual sump matter (30) is directed into the large tank (20) under a high pressure of at least 20 bar onto a partial region of the mass of residual sump matter (30) that is in the large tank (20) through injection nozzles (24) that end in the gas chamber (34) and are directed onto the residual sump matter (30). When this happens, the mass of residual sump matter (30) that is in the large tank (20) is gradually moved, heated and agitated, thereby forming aerosols, which are a constituent of the gas in the gas chamber (34) and are extracted by suction as a volumetric flow by way of the gas line (32).

There is disclosed a system and method for processing wine and/or a containing barrel, while keeping a volume of most of the wine in the barrel. The disclosed system and method can provide reduced mixing of different layers of wine in the barrel. An optional scrubbing mechanism cleans an interior surface of the barrel from encrusted matter, and an optional UV sterilization light source sanitizes an interior surface of the barrel that is alongside a cavity in the barrel empty of wine. In some embodiments a pumping and filtering system preserves non-mixing flow of wine in the barrel while effectively filtering wine optionally without the use of a filter cartridge or other interposing medium.

The mixing unit (100) can be used for mixing amino acids with different fluids however this unit can be used for mixing other fluids as well.

An apparatus for raising and lowering a cutting tool within a decoking drum, a decoking system and a method of raising and lowering a decoking system cutting tool. Instead of using metallic ropes, chains, or a self-propelled gear-based approach, non-metallic belts are secured at respective ends to a crosshead and one or more counterweights to enable vertical movement of the crosshead that in turn permits vertical movement of the cutting tool throughout the height of the drum. A motorized pulley system controls the movement of the belt, and preferably avoids having the motor be carried by the crosshead. The belts on each pulley are preferably arranged as cooperative sets so that within each set, both primary load belts and secondary load belts are present. Enhanced engagement between at least the primary load belts and the pulleys promotes greater load-bearing capability, while the secondary load belts are sufficiently strong to ensure positional stability of the crosshead and decoking tool upon damage to or failure of one or more of the primary load belts.

The object of the invention is a horizontal paddle dryer that is used for normal or vacuum drying of soaked substances that are in the form of dry powder mixtures or granulates in a manufacturing process and are soaked and mixed (normally with solvents) due to technological needs. Once drying is completed, the interior of the dryer needs to be washed due to various types of substances that differ from each other in content and properties. The construction of the horizontal paddle dryer of the invention allows simple and effective washing of the horizontal paddle dryer without an additional removal of washing heads during the washing of the dryer. The horizontal paddle dryer of the invention has a specially shaped interior wall (1) of the drum (2) that passes on the upper part through two surfaces (1a, 1b) that extend tangentially to the interior wall (1) into a horizontal final surface (1c) of the internal wall (1), such that a slightly concave part is created in the interior of the drum (2) in the wall (1), in which concave part retractable washing heads (3) are arranged that do not hinder functioning of the rotor (4) with paddles (5) either during drying or during washing.
