The invention concerns a terminal element for a gas exhaust pipe. Said element comprises a longitudinal jacket (8) with an intake (7), an outlet (11) and a concentric inner pipe (13) extending along part of the jacket (8), the pipe being laterally perforated and communicating at one end outwards. The jacket intake (7) communicates directly with an exhaust box (1) or with an element of the internal combustion engine exhaust pipe. In the terminal element is provided an obstacle to the linear flow of the expelled gas, which obstacle is bypassed by said flow before reaching outside, passing through the perforated pipe (13) whereof the end is preferably tapered. The outlet can be integrated or adapted to a standard exhaust box.

The invention relates to a double-walled tail pipe which can be pushed onto the end of the exhaust pipe (2) pertaining to an exhaust system of a motor vehicle. According to the invention, the outer wrap (1) is supported against the converter shell (5). The outer wrap (1) and the converter shell (5) are only connected in the overlapping area close to the exhaust pipe, however, are adjacent in the direction of the outlet end of the exhaust pipe without any contact therebetween. A cooling jacket (18) is produced over the entire circumference by the flowing cooling air. Said cooling jacket (18) protects the outer shell from the heat that is radiated by the exhaust gas or the converter shell.

An aircraft construction having an aircraft engine (1) and an engine nacelle (3) having a wall housing the engine. A cowl door (5) is provided in the wall of the nacelle providing access to the engine (1) to service it. An exhaust duct (11) extends from the engine (1) through the cowl door (5). The exhaust duct (11) has a first duct (11) section (15) with an outlet end extending from the engine (1) toward the cowl door (5) with its outlet end adjacent the cowl door (5). The exhaust duct includes a second (17), separate duct section, having an inlet end, mounted in the cowl door (5) and movable with the cowl door. The inlet end of the second (17) duct section is located adjacent the outlet end of the first duct section (15), when the cowl door (5) is closed, to have the first and second duct sections (15, 17) together directing exhaust from the engine (1) out of the nacelle (3). When the cowl door (5) is opended to service the engine (1), the second (17) duct section moves away with the door (5) making it easier to service the engine (1).
