The invention relates to an electronic selector lever module for generating gear shift signals for an automatic change speed gearbox of a motor vehicle. The customary pivoting of the gear speed selector lever (1) in the main shift lane P, R, N, D is converted into a rotational movement for an angular sensor (3). The angular sensor (3) is arranged on a circuit board (5) and is activated in a contactless fashion by a rotor (9). In order to ensure that the rotor (9) is guided in relation to the angular sensor (3) with as few components as possible and the smallest possible tolerances, the rotor (9) can either engage around a rounded part of the circuit board (5) or engage in the form of a fork around a rotor guide which is attached to the circuit board (5). A movement of the gear speed selector lever (1), which takes place transversely with respect to the direction of the shift lane (and which may be a tilting movement for manual gear speed selection or a lane change into a second shift lane, depending on the shift lane) is implemented according to the invention in that the second further sensor (7), which is responsible for the transverse movement, is also an angular sensor. Accordingly, the carrier for the associated crossdamping elements (eddy current damping elements) is now also a type of rotor which is embodied here in the form of an elongate tilting lever (30) and rotatably mounted. The mechanical coupling point from the gear speed selector lever is a short sleeve on a slide (13), which both form part of the rotor (9) for the shift lane movement and which also drive the rotatably mounted tilting lever (30) for the transverse movement. The slide (13) can move in rails in relation to the rotor (9), either radially directly on the rotor (9) or tangentially with respect to the centre of rotation of the rotor (on an auxiliary device). The rotor can be pressed against the circuit board (5) using a spring system.
