A system and method for annotation of patient image data. First, an image block having image data such as an image series is acquired. Then at least one geometric shape having associated annotation data is defined within the image block and at least one display plane is selected within the image block. The image data associated with the display plane is displayed. Finally, it is determined if the display plane intersect with the geometric shapes and for each display plane that intersects with a geometric shape, the annotation data associated with the geometric shapes being intersected by that display plane is displayed.

An imaging history display system and method is disclosed comprising diagnostic and patient summary interfaces for displaying, comparing and managing medical images. Imaging history display system displays studies in two interface modes in response to commands received from a user workstation. Display entities are displayed on display areas within display entity boxes that are defined by display entity layouts. Contextual summaries of display entities are provided in the patient summary interface to facilitate accurate and exhaustive diagnoses. Contextual summaries are generated in part based on pre-determined relevancy information. Display entities are easily organized in the patient summary interface. Display entities are easily activated in the diagnostic interface for diagnostic and comparison purposes.

In a method of preparing a phosphor or scintillator layer to become deposited on a support, a vapour depositing step is applied from a crucible unit by heating as phosphor precursor raw materials present in said crucible, a Cs(X,X') matrix compound and an activator or dopant precursor compound, wherein said crucible unit comprises at least a bottom and surrounding side walls as a container for phosphor precursor raw materials present in said crucible in liquefied form after heating said crucible, and wherein said Cs(X,X') matrix compound has a higher vapour pressure than said activator or dopant precursor compound, said method comprising a step of providing said activator or dopant compound in form of a precursor raw material represented by the formula Cs x Eu y X' (x+αy) , wherein x, y and α are integers, wherein x/y is more than 0.25 and wherein α is at least 2, wherein X represents Br and wherein X' stands for F, Cl, Br, I or a combination thereof; followed by an annealing step after a vapour depositing step, provided that said annealing step proceeds in an ambient atmosphere after cooling said phosphor or scintillator layer, deposited on said support; and wherein as a result a binderless needle-shaped Cs(X,X'):Eu phosphor or scintillator layer becomes provided, having on top of its needle-shaped phosphors, aligned in parallel, an average ratio of divalent to trivalent europium dopant of more than 1:1; wherein said average ratio decreases to an extent of less than 2% per hour, while being exposed to X-rays having an energy in the range from 1 to 100 keV.

A first and a second image are expressed in a common coordinate system by applying a geometric transformation to the second image so as to map a structure in the second image onto a corresponding structure in the first image in a common coordinate system. Starting from initial values, the parameters of the geometric transformation are updated taking into account the result of an evaluation of a cost function. Measurements are performed in the common coordinate system.

Translation difference images are created by pixel-wise subtracting the values of an approximation image at scale s and the values of a translated version of the approximation image. A non-linear modification is applied to the values of the translation difference image(s) and at least one enhanced center difference image at a specific scale is computed by combining the modified translation difference images at that scale or a smaller scale with weights w i,j . An enhanced image is computed by applying a reconstruction algorithm to the enhanced center difference images. The non-linear modification of the values of the translation difference images is steered by (a)characteristic(s) computed out of the approximation image(s) at at least one scale.

Zur Erhöhung der Kompaktheit des Systems bei gleichzeitig hoher Bildqualität ist im Probenarm (22) des Interferometers (20) ein Probenobjektiv vorgesehen, durch welches Licht in einen auf oder in der Probe (1) liegenden Fokus fokussiert wird. Darüber hinaus ist im Referenzarm (23) des Interferometers (20) ein Referenzobjektiv vorgesehen, durch welches Licht auf den Reflektor (25) fokussiert wird. Die optischen Eigenschaften des Probenobjektivs unterscheiden sich von den optischen Eigenschaften des Referenzobjektivs.
