The invention relates to a ship's propulsion and/or azimuth steering arrangement surrounded by water, said unit comprising an electric motor (5) in a chamber (4) formed by the unit walls, a propeller shaft (7) associated with the electric motor having a propeller (8) fitted outside the chamber (4). Arrangement includes means (12, 17) for pressurizing the chamber with air or some other pressurizing medium, the thermal conductivity of which increases with the pressurization. The invention also relates to a method for managing fluid flows in the propulsion and/or steering unit of the aforementioned kind, wherein the chamber (4) is sealed (10, 16, 26) on the one hand against the water pressure from outside and on the other hand, correspondingly, against other compartments (11, 15) of the ship. The chamber (4) is pressurized by means of a flowing medium, and monitoring of the pressure in the chamber (4) is performed, and the composition of the medium escaping from the chamber (4) in a controlled manner is monitored (20). Further,the invention comprises a method for improving the cooling by means of a pressurized gaseous medium.

The invention relates to a corvette ship-type equipment system comprising standard-equipment segments, such as an energy generator, an energy distributor, a drive and an automation segment, and a hull (1) which is adapted to the size and specific requirements on the corvette ship-type equipment system. According to the invention, in order to construct standard equipment-segments for a corvette ship-type equipment system which is technically and constructively simple and economical in terms of cost, at least one of the standard-equipment segments, such as the energy generator and/or the energy distributor and/or the drive and/or the automation segment is constructed from standard units or components which correspond to the requirements of the corvette ship-type equipment system and which are arranged in the hull of the boat (1) and which can be built into the hull of the boat according to different boat or ship-type equipment systems.

The invention relates to a marine-(navy) or commercial or yacht ship-type equipment system for electrically driven ships having different sizes and driving power, whereby the ships, as well as coast guard boats and customs boats, comprise standardised equipment segments for the propulsion and operation thereof. The individual equipment system for ship types consists of hulls, which are embodied according to the type of ship, i.e. are made according to size and specific task requirements and the equipment segments for propulsion, such as electrical oar propellers and waterjets, and for the operation of the ship such as the energy generator, the energy distributor and automation elements, are embodied according to type and according to driving power and function of the individual ships. The equipment segments are embodied in a prefabricated manner and can be installed on different areas in the hull of the ship.

The present invention is concerned with a hull assembly for an aquatic vessel, and particularly with a catamaran vessel provided with the hull assembly. The hull assembly has a plurality of flexible modular containers units. Each of the container units is connected together to form an outer shell structure with an inner hollow section. Each of the container units has an opening facing the inner hollow section. A plurality of inflatable bags are housed within each container unit. Each of the inflatable bags has an inlet for injecting a gas into each of the inflatable bags so as to provide rigidity to each of the container units. The hull also has an inner keel connecting the hull sections together within the inner hollow section along a longitudinal axis of the hull. The inner keel is provided with openings in registration with each opening of the container unit. An outer skin coat covers the container units and the inner keel.
