    摘要: A parallel packetized intermodule arbitrated high speed control data bus system which allows high speed communications between microprocessor modules in a more complex digital processing environment. The system features a simplified hardware architecture featuring fast FIFO queuing operating at 12.5 MHz, TTL CMOS compatible level clocking signals, single bus master arbitration, synchronous clocking, DMA, and unique module addressing for multiprocessor systems. The system includes a parallel data bus with sharing bus masters residing on each processing module decreeing the communication and data transfer protocols. Bus arbitration is performed over a dedicated serial arbitration line and each requesting module competes for access to the parallel data bus by placing the address of the requesting module on the arbitration line and monitoring the arbitration line for collisions.

    摘要: Techniques to search for a gated pilot reference in a wireless communication system. In one method, an overall code space in which the pilot may be found is partitioned into a number of groups of code sets, with each code set representative of all possible chip offsets of a specific PN sequence. The groups are ordered based on the likelihood of detecting the pilot in each of the groups. The groups of code sets are then used to search for the pilot, one group at a time, starting with the group most likely to result in successful pilot acquisition and ending with the group least likely to result in successful pilot acquisition. The search is terminated upon successful acquisition. The pilot search may be performed using detect, dwell, and pull-in substages. The detect substage for one group may be performed in parallel with the pull-in substage for another group.

    摘要: The present invention provides an automatic maintenance power control (MPC) system for a multiple access, spread-spectrum communication system which maintains an initial transmit power level of a subscriber unit, comprising a base station and a plurality of inactive subscriber units, wherein the base station transmits a plurality of forward inactive channel information signals to a plurality of subscriber units as a plurality of forward channel spread-spectrum signals, and each of the inactive subscriber units occasionally transmits to the base station at least one reverse spread-spectrum signal having a reverse transmit power level and including a reverse channel information signal; the base station comprising:

    a) a plurality of reverse signal measuring means, each reverse signal measuring means comprising: means for measuring a reverse signal-to-noise ratio of the respective reverse channel information signal; a plurality of reverse error generating means, each reverse error generating means for generating a respective reverse channel error signal representing a difference between the respective reverse channel signal-to-noise ratio and a respective pre-determined signal-tonoise ratio;
    b) system noise measuring means for measuring a system noise power level of the spread-spectrum system comprising: means for receiving a plurality of reverse spread-spectrum signals; means for combining the received spread spectrum signals with an uncorrelated despreading signal to produce a noise signal; and means for measuring a power level of the noise signal to produce a system noise power signal;
    c) means for multiplying the difference signal by the system noise power signal to generate the reverse channel error signal; and
    d) a plurality of transmitting means, each transmitting means for transmitting a respective reverse channel error signal as a part of a respective forward channel information signal; wherein each subscriber unit comprises an MPC receiving means for receiving a respective one of the forward channel information signals and for extracting the respective reverse error signal from the forward channel information signal, and a subscriber transmit power adjustment means for adjusting the reverse transmit power level of the respective reverse spread-spectrum signal responsive to the respective reverse error signal.

    摘要: A method and system enable matched filters of a CDMA system to be simplified using a two stage search. A course stage and a fine stage jointly produce the locations(s) of received signal path-rays. In a first stage, an oversampled digital signal (240) is decimated, and the decimated signal (415) is applied to a matched filter (420) to eventually produce an approximate location (460). In a second stage, the oversampled signal (240) is shifted based on the determined approximate location (460) and then correlated to a generated code (440), and a more-exact location is selected from the outputs of the correlations (450). Alternatively, a shifted version of the generated code (440) is correlated to the oversampled signal (240), and the more-exact location is selected from the outputs of those correlations (450).
