When a print of a picture image is ordered by generating print ordering information comprising electronic data in a predetermined standard to be processed by a predetermined photo finishing system, the print ordering information is generated by considering the content of the services that a service provider or a laboratory where the order is placed can provide so that the service will be provided with certainty. Picture image data obtained by reading a developed film are recorded in a recording medium together with printing service information regarding printing services. In print ordering information generation processing on the image data, the printing service information and the image data recorded in the recording medium are displayed on an order screen and print ordering information for requesting a printing service regarding the image data is generated by using the displayed printing service information.

The present invention is to allow display based on the setting positions of devices in selection of a desired device to be used, and facilitate selection considering the setting Positions of the devices. The present invention can also display equipments so as to allow discrimination between an equipment included in an image processing apparatus and an equipment connected on a communication line. Equipments in a network environment are placed on the first floor (1F), the second floor (2F), and the third floor (3F) in a building and connected through a network (LAN 1300). For example, a computer (1310) collects device information including status information and setting position information from usable input/output devices. For example, status information representing "BUSY" and setting position information representing "3F-B block" are transferred from a virtual optical scanner (1302). The computer (1310) displays the connected input/output devices together with the setting position information obtained from the devices. An image processing apparatus (100) has various input/output devices including a reader unit (1), a printer unit (2), and an image input/output control unit (3). In addition, various input/output equipments (two optical scanner devices (1302, 1303) and three facsimile transmission/reception devices (1305, 1306, 1307)) are connected to the image processing apparatus (100) through a LAN interface unit (9) and the LAN (1300). A CPU (123) of a core unit (10) manages the input/output equipments to determine whether they are connected through the network. When a desired input/output equipment is to be selected, whether the input/output equipments are connected through the network is explicitly indicated.

Die Erfindung betrifft ein Verfahren zum Übertragen einer Telefaxnachricht von einem sendeseitigen Telefaxendgerät (TF) an eine Mehrzahl von empfangsseitigen Telefaxendgeräten (RF1... RFn, RFn+1...RFm). Wenn ein Sendeauftrag dahingehend definiert ist, daß dieselbe Telefaxnachricht an eine Mehrzahl von Adressaten zu übertragen ist, besteht eine von der Anzahl der vorgesehenen Adressaten abhängige Wahrscheinlichkeit, daß der Sendeauftrag nicht vollständig, d. h. nicht hinsichtlich aller Adressaten, ausgeführt wird. Bei dem erfindungsgemäßen Verfahren ist vorgesehen, daß am sendeseitigen Telefaxendgerät Informationen gebildet werden, die die empfangsseitigen Telefaxendgeräte (RF1...RFn), denen die Nachricht übermittelt worden ist, beziehungsweise die empfangsseitigen Telefaxendgeräte (RFn+1...RFm), denen die Telefaxnachricht nicht übermittelt worden ist, bezeichnen. Den letztgenannten Telefaxendgeräten wird zu übermittelnde Telefaxnachricht durch gezielte Ansteuerung übermittelt.

There is disclosed an apparatus for transmission, reception and recording of an image, such as a facsimile apparatus, capable of correcting the unevenness in density or improper density resulting from fluctuation in the performance of the recording head of the receiving unit, with a limited amount of data transfer. At the start of communication, correction data for uneven or improper density of the recording head are sent from the receiving unit to the transmitting unit. The transmitting unit corrects the multi-value image data to be transmitted, based on the received correction data, and sends the corrected image data after conversion into binary state. The receiving unit receives the binary image data and effects image recording. The time and cost for data transmission can be reduced, as the correction is conducted at the transmitting unit and the data transmission can be made in binary data.

An identification memory (23A) registers the ID and telephone number that identify a subscriber. Another part of the memory stores the corresponding frequency of use. When a transceiver (21) starts a communication, the circuit (25) receives the addressee's ID and keep it in memory (25). In the case of the memory being full of this time, the last frequently used ID is deleted and this place is used to store the new ID. When receiving a call circuit (22) sequentially compares the sender's ID which each entry in memory (23). Reception is resumed when a conformance is detected. A frequency of use memory is updated in the memory corresponding to the subscriber's ID.
