摘要: A system and a method for renovating the inner surface (20, 22) of deteriorated or pitted tubes (18) are disclosed. The system includes: a tube cleaner; a pig device (10) with a main body portion (12); a coating applicator (16) disposed at a first end of the main body portion (12) of the pig device (10); and an end flange (14) disposed at a second end of the main body portion (12) of the pig device (10). The tube cleaner is utilized to condition the tube (18) for receiving the coating material. The coating applicator (16) is configured to distribute the coating material onto the inner surface (20, 22) of the tube (18). The end flange (14) is configured to wipe excess coating material from the inner surface (20, 22) of the tube (18). The method includes: providing a coating material in a tube; positioning a pig device (10) in the tube ( 18); and motivating the pig device (10) through the tube (18) to apply the coating material onto the inner surface (20, 22) of the tube (18). The pig device (10) is sized and orientated to disperse the coating material along the tube's inner surface (20, 22).

摘要: A method for electrostatic spray-coating a medical device having a tubular wall, such as a stent, having an inner surface, an outer surface and openings therein. The tubular wall is grounded or electrically charged, and an electrically charged conductive core wire is located axially through the center of the stent. An electrical potential is applied to the conductive core wire to impart an electrical charge to the conductive core wire. The tubular wall is exposed to an electrically charged coating formulation, and the electrically charged coating formulation is deposited onto a portion of the tubular wall to form a coating. The electrical potentials of the conductive core wire and tubular wall can be repeatedly alternated.

摘要: The invention relates to hollow bodies, whose internal surface is coated, to a coating method and to devices for carrying out said coating method to specifically adapt the physical characteristics, e.g. electrical conductivity, diffusion behaviour or the chemical stability of hollow bodies, such as for example plastic tubes or flexible hoses, by coating their internal surface using a gas plasma to a thickness of between 5 and 1000 nm. The coatings are applied individually or as a sandwich and act bi-directionally. For example said coatings protect a medium in the interior of the hollow body from contamination by the surrounding area and by the material of the wall of the hollow body itself, or protect the surrounding area from the medium with an efficiency that has not previously been achieved, or said coatings prevent the medium from escaping through the wall of the hollow body.

摘要: In a first aspect, this invention relates to an apparatus for applying a liquid onto surfaces within internal cavities in an object (1). The apparatus comprises at least one vessel (8), an upwardly open through (10) formed with at least one bottom hole, which trough is located above the vessel (8) and on which the object (1) is placeable, as well as two conduits (24, 25) communicating with the vessel as well as the trough, viz. A feeder (24) from which liquid via the trough (10) from below may be brought to ascend up in the internal cavities within the object (1), and an evacuation conduit (25) provided with a cut-off valve (30) through which excess liquid after finished processing of the object may run back down into the vessel (8). Further more, the invention also relates to a method for applying a liquid onto surfaces within internal cavities in an object (1).

摘要: A method of renovating an existing pipeline comprises spray-coating the interior of the pipeline using a two part coating system of which the two parts are mixed at the time of application. One part of the system comprises a polyisocyanate whilst the second part comprises one or more oligomeric polyamines, optionally further blended with a secondary aliphatic polyamine, or the second part comprises one or more aromatic polyamines blended with one or more polyols. The mixture forms a coating on the interior surface of the pipeline and forms, at a high cure rate, a monolithic flexible lining which exhibits high strength and a high level of adhesion to the pipe wall.
