A system and a method for renovating the inner surface (20, 22) of deteriorated or pitted tubes (18) are disclosed. The system includes: a tube cleaner; a pig device (10) with a main body portion (12); a coating applicator (16) disposed at a first end of the main body portion (12) of the pig device (10); and an end flange (14) disposed at a second end of the main body portion (12) of the pig device (10). The tube cleaner is utilized to condition the tube (18) for receiving the coating material. The coating applicator (16) is configured to distribute the coating material onto the inner surface (20, 22) of the tube (18). The end flange (14) is configured to wipe excess coating material from the inner surface (20, 22) of the tube (18). The method includes: providing a coating material in a tube; positioning a pig device (10) in the tube ( 18); and motivating the pig device (10) through the tube (18) to apply the coating material onto the inner surface (20, 22) of the tube (18). The pig device (10) is sized and orientated to disperse the coating material along the tube's inner surface (20, 22).

Die Erfindung beschreibt Verfahren zur Herstellung eines Films eines hydrophilen Polymers auf den inneren Oberflächen eines fluidischen Bauteils, bei welchen zunächst die inneren Oberflächen einer physikalisch-chemischen Behandlung, insbesondere einer Plasmabehandlung, unterzogen werden, anschließend die inneren Oberflächen mit einer Lösung des hydrophilen Polymers in Kontakt gebracht werden, anschließend die Polymerlösung durch ein gasförmiges Medium derartig ersetzt wird, dass zunächst die inneren Oberflächen mit einem Teil der Polymerlösung benetzt bleiben und schließlich ein Film des hydrophilen Polymers durch Entzug des Lösungsmittels auf den inneren Oberflächen des fluidischen Bauteils verbleibt. Das hierbei eingesetzte hydrophile Polymer weist für wässrige Lösungen eine Oberflächenbenetzbarkeit auf, welche höher ist als die Oberflächenbenetzbarkeit der inneren Oberflächen des fluidischen Bauteils selbst. Weiterhin beschreibt die Erfindung fluidische Bauteile und Systeme sowie Analysesysteme, auf deren inneren Oberflächen zumindest teilweise ein Film eines hydrophilen Polymers vorliegt.

The invention relates to hollow bodies, whose internal surface is coated, to a coating method and to devices for carrying out said coating method to specifically adapt the physical characteristics, e.g. electrical conductivity, diffusion behaviour or the chemical stability of hollow bodies, such as for example plastic tubes or flexible hoses, by coating their internal surface using a gas plasma to a thickness of between 5 and 1000 nm. The coatings are applied individually or as a sandwich and act bi-directionally. For example said coatings protect a medium in the interior of the hollow body from contamination by the surrounding area and by the material of the wall of the hollow body itself, or protect the surrounding area from the medium with an efficiency that has not previously been achieved, or said coatings prevent the medium from escaping through the wall of the hollow body.

A method of renovating an existing pipeline comprises spray-coating the interior of the pipeline using a two part coating system of which the two parts are mixed at the time of application. One part of the system comprises a polyisocyanate whilst the second part comprises one or more oligomeric polyamines, optionally further blended with a secondary aliphatic polyamine, or the second part comprises one or more aromatic polyamines blended with one or more polyols. The mixture forms a coating on the interior surface of the pipeline and forms, at a high cure rate, a monolithic flexible lining which exhibits high strength and a high level of adhesion to the pipe wall.
