    摘要: The present invention provides a capped collet and a cap attached to the collet, which are capable of efficiently supplying a cooling fluid to a tool according to the type of the tool held therein, and of performing satisfactory cooling. The capped collet comprises: a collet body 10; a cap 11 which is attached to the top-end side of the collet body 10 in an attachable and detachable manner and which allows the tool to pierce therethrough; and a sealing member 12 placed between a tool holder 101 and the cap 11 in order to hermetically seal a space between them. The collet body 10 has a slot 13 formed at least from the top-end side thereof, and an annular projection 21 which is formed on the top-end side and which is coupled with the cap 11. The cap 1 has an annular groove 18 for coupling with the annular projection 21 of the collet body 10, and a cover 22 for covering the end face of the collet body 10 on the top-end side.

    摘要: The invention relates to a drill or milling head, especially for printed-circuit board milling machines and engraving machines, having a collet chuck (11) which can be actuated by a rapid change mechanism and which is driven by a gearbox. The collet chuck is opened by means of an axial displacement with regard to a clamping sleeve (50), whereby the force necessary for the displacement is transmitted via a friction clutch. The gearbox has a ball bearing (9) whose balls are moved around a common axis in a concentric manner by means of an carrier part fixed on a motor drive shaft (5). In addition, the balls are mounted between two bearing surfaces which are aligned in a concentric manner with regard to the axis and which have a circular cross-section. The balls are also at least partially engaged with said bearing surfaces in a positive manner. The bearing surfaces, of which one can rotate and the other is fixed, are axially aligned and, symmetric to one another, are curved in a concave manner, whereby the maximum distance between the convex surfaces is equal to the ball diameter. The balls are axially actuated with a force. According to the inventive drill or milling head, simple means make it possible to drive the collet chuck at a different speed than that of the motor.

    摘要: A sealed collet having improved radial flexibility is provided for facilitating removal from a locknut of a chuck assembly. The sealed collet includes a collet body formed from a tubular configuration of elongated gripping fingers separated by elongated slots which render the body radially resilient in response to pressure applied by a locknut. The slots are filled with a bonding agent, which may be a silicon rubber compound, for preventing dirt and debris from entering the collet slots and for preventing pressurized coolant intended to flow through a bore in a tool shank from flowing through the walls of the collet body. To increase the radial compressibility of the collet, agent-free gaps are provided in the slots immediately behind a distal portion of the collet body. In the preferred embodiment, the length of the agent-free gap is between 20 % and 30 % of the overall length of its respective slot. The location of the gaps immediately behind the distal end of the collet body advantageously increases the radial compressibility of the collet while allowing the bonding agent in the slots to continue to prevent debris from entering the collet.
