Further, the invention relates to a genetically engineered non-human animal and a method to produce said transgenic non-human animal. Also, the invention relates to a cell genetically engineered with the DNA molecule of the invention and a method of simultaneously knocking down two genes in a cell. Furthermore, envisaged is a method of identifying a combination of two target genes as a potential drug target and the use of the DNA molecule of the invention for the preparation of a composition for gene therapy.
摘要:
A method of thermoacoustic imaging of an object, comprises the steps of providing thermoacoustic signals representing a mechanical wave response to a delivery of electromagnetic energy into the imaged object, reconstructing an energy deposition image representing a local energy absorption within the object based on the thermoacoustic signals, and decomposing the energy deposition image into a quantitative absorption image representing a distribution of a local absorption coefficient in the object and at least one further image component. Preferably, the energy deposition image reconstructing step comprises providing a forward model matrix of thermoacoustic signal propagation, and matrix-based acoustic inversion of the thermoacoustic signals utilizing an inverted model matrix approach. Furthermore, an imaging device is described which is adapted for conducting the thermoacoustic imaging of the object.

The present application relates to semiconductor devices, in particular to a device for monitoring a cell signal such as an electrical signal produced by living cells in response to external stimulation, optionally in real time, comprising (a) at least one discrete area comprising a high electron mobility transistor (HEMT); and (b) non-excitable cells attached to said HEMT (HEMT element) for example, fibroblasts, HEK, CHO cell lines, keratinocytes, etc. Preferably, the HEMT is an AlGaN/GaN FET. Accordingly, the device can be applied in uses and methods for monitoring a cell signal such as an electrical signal produced by living cells in response to external stimulation, optionally in real time. Likewise, the device can be applied for screening compounds that reverse, protect from and/or shield cells from external stimuli which cause damage to cells. Also, kits comprising the device are disclosed.

The invention relates to a unit for removing a soil monolith from a lysimeter casing. Said unit is provided with a holding and receiving device (16) for the lysimeter casing (14) containing the soil monolith (12), and a driving device which acts on the soil monolith (12) and/or the lysimeter casing (14) for the continuous and/or gradual displacement of the soil monolith (12) out of the lysimeter casing (14). The invention also relates to a method for removing a soil monolith from a lysimeter casing. According to said method, a force is applied to the soil monolith (12) and/or the lysimeter casing (14), the soil monolith and the lysimeter casing then being displaced in relation to each other.
