Two or more control pedals are engaged to a pedal mounting system base component (15) through a number of components that are slideably engaged to one another. The construction and arrangement of the components that are slideably engaged to one another and the engagement of those components to the control pedals (27, 28,65) and the pedal mounting system base component (15) is such that the position of at least two control pedals is adjustable relative to one another. One or more positioning actuators (45) are engaged to the components that are slideably engaged to one another. The positioning actuators (45), when activated, slide the slideably engaged components relative to one another and thus change the position of one or more control pedals (31). One or more position control apparatus (55) are connected to the positioning actuators (45) so that an operator of the vehicle can activate the positioning actuators (45) to adjust the position of the control pedals (27, 28, 65). Pedal driven components (63) such as pedal position sensors (91) and hydraulic master cylinders (94) are flexibly linked to the systems of the vehicle (12) so that the control pedals (27, 28, 65) remain functional regardless of the position to which the operator has adjusted them.

    摘要: A controller area network diagnosis instrument for diagnosis and evaluation of electronic components on a vehicle control system (10). The controlled area network diagnostic instrument (CANDI) includes a computer processor (119) with a graphics display (121). The processor (119) has a cable (132) to plug into the diagnostic connector (36) engaged to a common data bus (18) of the vehicle (101). The processor (119) is programmed to graphically show a mock gauge cluster or vehicle instrument panel (120) on the display (121) in that has the same appearance as a real vehicle gauge cluster or vehicle instrument panel (102). When connected to the diagnostic connector, the processor (119) mines data off of the data bus (18) and converts it into human readable form on the display (121). This may take the form of mock conventional gauges (124), mock warning lights (105), mock switch status (123), or mock LCD displays (126) shown via computer graphics on the processor's display (121).

    摘要: A motor vehicle electrical power system provides monitoring of the connection between a vehicle battery and a direct current power source for charging the battery. A voltage transient detector determines if voltage levels on the connection between the vehicle battery and the direct current power supply exceed a minimum threshold. Additionally, a timer or low pass filter passes only voltage transients of a minimum duration. Responsive to detection of a voltage transient exceeding the minimum threshold and duration a load dump event is signaled indicating a possible transient interruption of the connection between the vehicle battery and the direct current power source has occurred.
