摘要:
A portable high frequency chest wall oscillation (HFCWO) apparatus (10) for the purposes of airway lung clearance and ventilation includes a circumferential chest band (12) which is placed around a person's chest and a drive (14) which is connected to the chest band (12) for cyclically varying the circumference of the chest band (12) to apply an oscillating compressive force to the chest of the person. The apparatus (10) maintains the oscillating compressive force applied by the chest band (12) to the chest of the person at a substantially constant level such that the person is able to continue chest expansions and contractions during a breathing cycle.

A method for applying a plurality of compressive forces to a thorax of a patient, measuring a displacement corresponding to each of the plurality of compressive forces, and determining properties of the thorax based on the compressive forces and the displacement. A system having a force applying device applying compressive forces to a thorax of a patient, a measurement device measuring a displacement of the thorax corresponding to each of the compressive forces, and a control device determining properties of the thorax based on the displacements of the thorax corresponding to each of the compressive forces.

A method and apparatus for resuscitating the cardiac/pulmonary activity of a patient include the use of pneumatically controlled inflatable/deflatable cuffs (10 and 12) secured over the patient's legs and abdomen and optionally the chest. The cuffs are preferably inflated and deflated at a cyclical rate of 10-40 cycles/min. A ventilator (42) and a face mask (38) may be used to supply breathable air to a patient in conjunction with the cyclical operation of the cuffs.

A vest (11) for a human body (14) has an air core (36) coupled to a pulsator (12) operable to subject the vest to pulses of air which applies and releases high frequency pressure forces to the body. The pulsator (12) has tow diaphragms (89, 91) connected to an electric de motor (118) with rotary to reciprocating linear motion transmitting mechanisms (116, 117) operable to generate air pulses in an air pulsing chamber (87). The diaphragms (89, 91) also increase the pressure in a manifold chamber (88). A check valve (99) connects the manifold chamber (88) with a pulsing chamber (87) to allow pressurized air to flow from the manifold chamber (88) into the pulsing chamber (87). An air flow control valve (167) in communication with the manifold chamber (88) is used to adjust the pressure of the air in the manifolds and pulsing chambers.

A modular CPR assist device comprises a belt, a belt tensioning means operably connected to the belt, a motor operably connected to the belt tensioning, said motor capable of operating the belt tensioning means repeatedly to cause the belt to tighten about the chest of the patient and loosen about the chest of the patient, a controller for controlling operation of the motor, wherein said controller is programmed to operate the motor and the belt tensioning means to cause repeated cycles of tightening of the belt about the chest of the patient and loosening of the belt about the chest of the patient, and an encoder operably connected to a component of the chest compression device, so that the encoder is capable of measuring the position of the belt, said encoder being capable of transmitting a belt position signal indicative of the position of the belt to the controller.

An instrument is described for assisting a rescuer in the proper administration of CPR. A sensor detects movement of the chest caused by ventilation. The sensor signals are processed to produce a control signal representative of the effectiveness of the ventilation. A lung icon is displayed in the outline shape of human lungs and the outline is displayed filled to a level which indicates the effectiveness of the ventilation.

The present invention relates to a driving device for external counterpulsation, which includes solenoid valves (1), air cylinders (2) and pusher plates (3). The solenoid valves (1) control higher voltage driving the two way motion of pistons (21) in the fir cylinders (2), the pistons (21) act on the pusher plates (3), and the pusher plates (3) bear down on the extremities (5), so it can drive the blood circulation. The air cylinders (2) are driven in two way by liquid brought from the solenoid valves (1), they act quickly, so it can bring good effect of driving the blood circulation. Since the air cylinders (2) are driven by an air source with higher pressure, the air expended is less. The fact that the size of the device of air source for counterpulsation, the valve, the pipeline and so on reducing accordingly, makes the size of the device for counterpulsation reduced. So the device is portable, and it can be used in both the treat of counterpulsation, rescue by the bedside, and improving one’s health, health care, healing, or in the family.

A resuscitation device (3) for automatic compression of a victim's chest using a compression belt (64L) which exerts force evenly over the entire thoracic cavity. The belt (64L) is constricted and relaxed through a motorized spool assembly that repeatedly tightens the belt (64L) and relaxes the belt (64L) to provide repeated and rapid chest compression.
