By tearing along that line (7) the end of the strap having the tab (6) is separated from the enclosure (3). There may be two rows of teeth (22) on the strap and the enclosure would then have a passage (4) formed with two channels (44) to accomo- date the respective rows of teeth (22).

In its unlocked, ready position, the retainer (618) permits insertion of an end of the cable lacing tape (614) through the passageway (638) in the body (616) from an entrance opening (640) to an exit opening (642) and routable over a base portion (690) of the retainer, through an opening (697) in the retainer (618), and around a handle portion (694) of the retainer. In the locked position, the path of the cable lacing tape (614) through the body (616) and the retainer (618) causes the retainer to act as a cam latch mechanism.

The protective tip may instead include one or more projections that apply a frictional force to an outer surface of the catheter to retain the protective tip on the catheter. The protective tip may instead be retained on the catheter by a tether extending between the protective tip and a distal end of the catheter. The protective tip may also be provided in two pieces.

The system comprises a plastic clamp (100) comprising:
- at least one strip (1) equipped with a toothed portion (2); and
- at least one head (3, 4) formed onto the strip, the head comprising a complementary toothed portion, the head being configured to receive and lock the strip by means of the complementary toothed portion.
The plastic clamp engages and is closed onto the component and the attachment portion by pulling tight the strip through the head.
