The invention relates to light boxes which are used to illuminate light valve display screens, for example LCD (Liquid Crystal Display) matrices. At present, the light from light boxes is provided by electroluminescent diodes emitting in different spectral bands such as to reconstruct a white light. For a certain number of applications, such as aeronautical applications, it is necessary to retain the photometric and colorimetric characteristics of said light, independently of environmental conditions or component ageing. For said purpose, the invention relates to an electronic automatic control device which can be used to maintain the photometric and colorimetric characteristics of the light at given set values without disruptive optoelectronic devices being introduced into the light box. The invention also relates to several possible technical solutions.
