摘要: On the basis of a spreading factor obtained by despreading a control channel of received data by a control channel despreading unit, a spreading factor determination unit determines a transmission rate of the received data. User data subjected to despreading processing at a user data despreading unit is demodulated by a demodulator and temporarily stored in a demodulated data memory. The user data read from the demodulated data memory is decoded by a decoder, whereas the result of decoding by the decoder is supplied to a delay measurement unit, where a delay time relative to the above processing, of the user data is detected. A channel resource management unit manages the number of available resources at all times or in a constant cycle on the basis of transmission rates of respective radio channels detected by the spreading factor determination unit and delay processing times of the respective radio channels detected by the delay measurement unit.

摘要: In a method of controlling a searcher used in a wireless communication device supplied with a sequence of baseband reception data signals divisible into a sequence of frames, a current frame and preceding frames are selected which satisfy a first relationship. A current and preceding frame rates are statistically processed to obtain frequencies of combinations of the current and the preceding frame rates and to store the frequencies. The first relationship is determined by a difference between a processing time of correlators and the like and a delay time of a delay unit. A next frame search rate judgement portion statistically processes frequencies of combinations of the current and the preceding frame rates so as to calculate a next frame rate candidate in accordance with the first relationship. The next frame rate is predicted by using the next frame rate candidate with reference to a second relationship similar to the first relationship.

摘要: An apparatus and method for encoding/decoding a transport format combination indicator (TFCI) in a CDMA mobile communication system. In the TFCI encoding apparatus, a one-bit generator generates a sequence having the same symbols. A basis orthogonal sequence generator generates a plurality of basis orthogonal sequences. A basis mask sequence generator generates a plurality of basis mask sequences. An operation unit receives TFCI bits that are divided into a first information part representing biorthogonal sequence conversion, a second information part representing orthogonal sequence conversion, and a third information part representing mask sequence conversion and combines an orthogonal sequence selected from the basis orthogonal sequence based on the second information, a biorthogonal sequence obtained by combining the selected orthogonal sequence with the same symbols selected based on the first information part, and a mask sequence selected based on the biorthogonal sequence and the third information part, thereby generating a TFCI sequence.

摘要: Blind joint detection is performed at the MS end points receiving a CDMA signal transmitted by the serving Base Station which makes exceptions to the Default Midamble Association (DMA) indication, and over-rules the default scheme in a pre-defined way signalling it in advance to the served MSs. In a first case the BS allocates less midambles to the assigned codes with respect to the broadcast DMA indication, declaring that the midamble assigned to a pool of orthogonal channelisation codes is the one defined for the first common root of these codes; on the other hand the MS assumes that all the channelisation codes which can be associated to a midamble meeting the above over-rule are also transmitted. In a second case the BS allocates different Spreading Factor (SF) values in a given time slot, declaring the maximum distance on the binary code tree admitted between SF values on the same time slot; on the other hand the MS assumes that the CDMA sequences are transmitted with the channelisation codes resulting from the lowest possible SF value and the broadcast DMA indication.

摘要: In one disclosed embodiment, a mobile unit receives an assigned reverse supplemental channel data rate, for example, as part of a supplemental channel assignment from a base station to the mobile unit in a CDMA spread spectrum communication system. The mobile unit utilizes a profiling table to determine a maximum feasible reverse supplement channel data rate corresponding to a given forward supplemental channel data rate. For example, the profiling table can be constructed by testing the mobile unit to determine what combinations of forward and reverse supplemental channel data rates and operating conditions cause the mobile unit's processor to 'crash'. The mobile unit communicates data over the reverse supplemental channel at a data rate which does not exceed the maximum feasible reverse supplemental channel data rate, for example, by constructing service data units using filler to lower the communication data rate below the maximum feasible reverse supplemental channel data rate.
