    摘要: An electronic equipment cabinet is provided, which includes an upper portion, a lower portion and a support configured to receive electronic equipment. The bottom portion defines a base plenum configured to receive a low temperature gas and communicates with a gas flow distribution pathway, which includes a first plenum communicating with the base plenum and configured to direct the low temperature gas to the support. The gas flow distribution pathway further includes a second plenum configured to receive a high temperature gas flow from the support and direct the high temperature gas flow to the top portion. The top portion includes at least one fan configured to direct the high temperature gas flow from the gas flow distribution pathway. A temperature sensor senses the temperature of the high temperature gas flow and communicates with a control module to control the first plenum and the at least one fan for regulating temperature.

    摘要: A box-shaped enclosure for electronic apparatus includes a deadening wall or walls defining a storage space 32 between first and second planes 13, 15. The storage space is open at the first and preferably the second plane. A deadening wall member 26 extends along the first plane, forming the inner side of a door 14. The door is in the form of an auxiliary box-shaped enclosure connected to the main box-shaped enclosure so as to close the first plane. The auxiliary box-shaped enclosure defines an auxiliary space 47 isolated from the storage space 32 with a deadening wall member. The storage space is connected to the fresh air through a ventilation opening 22, the auxiliary space 47 and an inner opening 28. The outer ventilation opening and the inner through-opening are preferably elongate and parallel but offset in the plane of the door, either horizontally or vertically, to give the air a convoluted path. Fans 31 are arranged along the inner opening 28. The layout and the deadening wall or walls of the box-shaped enclosure and the deadening wall member serve to prevent the leakage of the operating sound. Doors 14, 16 can be fitted to the front and back of the main enclosure, or a single door can be subdivided, with one of the exterior vents 24 connected via a passage 85 to the rear of the interior.

    摘要: An electronic assembly (11)(e.g., a supercomputer) wherein different levels (L) of substrates (13, 19), each having a plurality of heat-generating electronic components (23), includes a cooling means (33) centrally disposed therein for providing cooling fluid to each of the heat generating components to cool same. In a preferred embodiment, the cooling means comprises a plurality of concentrically disposed duct members (e.g., of thermoplastic), which each in turn include a longitudinal chamber portion and a flared end portion. The flared end portion is particularly designed to direct the cooling fluid in a plurality of directions, depending on the requirements of the assembly. Diffusing means (e.g., an apertured plate) may also be used to assure passage of turbulent, even fluid flow through each duct member.
