摘要:
Methods of delivering a pharmaceutical compounds directly to the olfactory epithelium of a mammal by providing a pharmaceutical aerosol suspension comprising an aerosol and the pharmaceutical compound; aerosolizing the suspension to generate a stream of droplets, the stream having a rotational component, and, delivering the droplets directly to the olfactory epithelium, wherein at least 15% of the droplets are delivered directly to the olfactory deposition. The pharmaceutical compound may be encapsulated within a liposome nanoparticle.

A liquid tank (14) for an aerosol inhalator has a reservoir channel (68) opening into air at one end thereof and containing flavor solution (L) inside; a supply pipe (48) connecting the other end of the reservoir channel (68) to an inhalation passage (4) of the aerosol inhalator and guiding the flavor solution (L) to the inhalation passage (4) through either one of inhalation pressure in the inhalation passage (4) and capillary action; and an outflow valve (26) located between the other end of the reservoir channel (68) and the supply pipe (48), for allowing only the flow of the flavor solution (L) running from the reservoir channel (68) towards the supply pipe (4) ( FIG.2 ).

The invention relates to a vaporising nozzle (1) consisting of a nozzle body (10) comprising a first bore (11) for conveying pressurised gas, at least one second bore (12) for conveying a liquid to be vaporised and communicating with the first bore, and an area (13) for vaporising the liquid, formed in the axis of the first bore (11). Said nozzle is characterised in particular in that each bore (12) for conveying liquid communicates with the first bore (11) through a negative pressure chamber (15) formed between said first bore and the vaporising area, said negative pressure chamber (15) being crossed from side to side by the stream of propellant gas.

The invention relates to a device for dosing and aerosolization of aerosolizable material. The device comprises: a body with an aerosolization channel with a distal attachment portion connectable to a source of carrier gas which provides pressure pulses to the aerosolization channel; a proximal attachment portion for outputting aerosolized material and a reservoir for receiving aerosolizable material. The reservoir comprises walls and is connected in a gas-tight manner to the body and in fluid connection with the aerosolization channel. At least part of the walls of the device are self-exciting membranes that can be put into oscillation by the pressure pulses.

An anti-inflammatory product for use in treating a nasal condition, preferably the anti-inflammatory product comprises a steroid, wherein the product is delivered to a nasal airway of a subject by closing the oropharyngeal velum of the subject and delivering the product with a gas flow into one nostril of the subject at a driving pressure to flow around the posterior margin of the nasal septum and out of the other nostril of the subject.

A storage device (4) and a dispensing device (1) are proposed. The powder (2) is dispensed through a duct (5) with a flat cross section to de-agglomerate the powder and to generate a spray (3) with fine particle size. A storage chamber (10) for the powder may be closed by a bursting element (12), wherein pressurized gas can burst the bursting element for discharging the powder. Preferably, the cross section of a gas supply to the storage chamber controls the gas flow during dispensing of the powder. The storage device comprises multiple storage chambers and associated ducts or nozzles, so that each dose of powder can be dispensed through a separate duct or nozzle. The powder may be forced through the duct by a gas pressure of less than 300 kPa to de-agglomerate the powder and/or to generate the spray. Preferably, the gas pressure reaches or exceeds a peak value before the bursting element bursts and, then, the powder is dispensed by a lower gas pressure.
