The invention relates to a method for producing cellulosed molded articles having a functional effect. The method is characterized by charging cellulosed fibers or films with incorporated ion exchangers having bactericidal metal ions and/or ionic pharmaceutical active substances in such a manner that a depot of these active substances is built up in the fiber. Said depot time-releases the active substances in the amount of the corresponding equivalent concentration when the fibers and films are used in aqueous solutions. The invention also relates to molded articles produced according to the inventive method.

The present invention relates to a material for acquisition of liquids comprising individualized, crosslinked cellulosic fibers having an effective amount of a polymeric acid crosslinking agent (such as polyacrylic acid polymers) reacted with the fibers in intra-fiber crosslink ester bond form. The material further comprises at least one basic substance, selected from basic polymers (such as polyallylamine (PAAM) or crosslinked quaternary ammonium hydroxide divinylbenzene/styrene copolymer/Amberlyst A-26 OH). The invention also relates to disposable absorbent articles, such as diapers, containing this material. The material can be used in a method of reducing the electrolyte concentration of aqueous mediums containing electrolytes, such as urine.

The present invention provides an article formed by impregnating a fibrous structure with a compound, the compound including an aqueous dispersion, the dispersion having (a) at least one polymer selected from the group consisting of an ethylene-based thermoplastic polymer, a propylene-based thermoplastic polymer, and mixtures thereof; (b) at least one polymeric stabilizing agent; and (c) water; and removing at least a portion of the water from the impregnated fibrous structure. The present invention also provides a method of forming a stiffened textile. The method may include the steps of: forming a compound, the compound including an aqueous dispersion having (a) at least one polymer selected from the group consisting of an ethylene-based thermoplastic polymer, a propylene-based thermoplastic polymer, and mixtures thereof, (b) at least one polymeric stabilizing agent, and (c) water; impregnating a textile with the compound; and removing at least a portion of the water from the impregnated textile.

The invention concerns a soil-repellent finishing agent (A), such as i.e. an agent containing polysiloxane for the soiling-inhibiting finishing for textile surfaces, particularly textile floor surfaces, optionally as a constituent of a carpet cleaning product, the product also containing a wetting agent (N) and/or an antistatic agent. The aim of the invention is to achieve, with the same proportion as contained in prior art products of soiling-inhibiting finishing agents such a polysiloxane in the cleaning product, an improvement in the soil-repellent action or, with a reduced proportion compared to that contained in the prior art of the finishing agent in the cleaning product, an at least identical soil-repellent action. To this end, the invention provides that the wetting agent (N) and/or antistatic agent is used as a cationic surfactant.
