The present invention relates to a method for the flame-retardant processing of textile materials, wherein said method first comprises impregnating said materials with a melamine-type resin or with organosilicone-containing substances. The materials are further impregnated with a solution of a complex compound comprising an ammonia salt of amidoalkylphosphonic acid with ammonium chloride. The materials processed according to this method have a reduced combustibility while the gases produced during combustion have a low toxicity.

where R - CH 3 ; R 1 - CH 3 , C 2 H 5 , C 3 H 7 , C 4 H 9 . The combustion retardant can be used primarily as a comonomer in the process of copolymerisation with methyl methacrylate, and also to impart fireproofing properties to chemical fibres. In the latter case, the method of inoculation polymerisation is used.
