The current spreader can be patterned to produce a round beam illumination or illumination in a form of a static picture or logo. A round beam illumination can better cooperate with an optical system of lenses in an illumination device. Further the current spreader can be patterned to have lower current density in the center to reduce/avoid temperature hotspot in the center and obtain a more even die temperature.
