摘要: A multi-staged lighting device (1) for generating a polarized multi-colored light beam (25) is disclosed. The multi-staged lighting device (1) comprises two or more light concentrators (5, 15), each light concentrator (5, 15) having a wavelength converter (8, 19) configured to convert light entering the light concentrator (5, 15) to light having a longer wavelength, and at least one polarizing beam splitter (10) configured to split converted light coupled out from a light concentrator (5, 15) into two light beams having different polarizations, one of the light beams being transmitted to a different light concentrator (5, 15) and the other light beam forming a color component of the polarized multi-colored light beam (25). Light converted by wavelength converters (8, 19) of different light concentrators (5, 15) has different wavelengths, and the light concentrators (5, 15) are arranged in order of increasing wavelength of the converted light, a first light concentrator (5) being arranged to receive light from at least one light source (2, 17). A method for generating a polarized multi-colored light beam (25) is also disclosed.

摘要: A projection apparatus has an optical device capable of diffusing coherent light beams, an irradiation unit to irradiate coherent light beams to the optical device so that the coherent light beams scan the optical device, a light modulator to generate a modulated image using coherent light beams incident on and diffused at respective points of the optical device from the irradiation unit, and a projection optical system to project a modulated image generated by the light modulator onto a scattering plane. The light modulator has a plurality of micromirrors provided for each pixel, to switch a reflection angle of each coherent light beam from the optical device, and a reflection angle controller to control a timing of switching a reflection angle of each of the plurality of micromirrors so that the timing becomes irregular for each frame period that is a time unit for generating the modulated image.

摘要: This invention provides a light source system and a projection device. The light source system includes an excitation light source (301) for generating a excitation light (2011), a wavelength conversion device (306), a supplemental light source for generating a supplemental light, a light guiding device for directing the supplemental light to the wavelength conversion device, a light collection device for collecting the supplemental light that scattered and reflected by the wavelength conversion device. By setting the relative sizes of the light guiding device and the light collection device, the luminous flux of the supplemental light that is lost due to the light guiding device is less than or equal to a quarter of that the luminous flux of the supplemental light collected by the light collection device. Therefore, by collecting the first supplemental light reflected by the wavelength conversion device, efficiency of light output of the light source is improved.
