    摘要: This disclosure relates to quantum electronic devices for storing qubits. In particular, this disclosure relates to a quantum electronic device comprising a carbon nanosphere adapted to store a qubit represented by an electron spin and a control and readout device to set the qubit and read the qubit stored on the carbon nanosphere. Qubits stored on carbon nanospheres have a long electron spin lifetime at room temperature. This disclosure further relates to a method for quantum computing. The method comprises storing a qubit represented by an electron spin on a carbon nanosphere, performing a quantum operation on the qubit to generate a resulting qubit and reading the resulting qubit from the nanosphere. There is further provided a spintronic device comprising multiple carbon nanospheres adapted to provide a qubit represented by an electron spin in that carbon nanosphere and a control device to facilitate interaction between the qubits to perform a quantum operation.

    摘要: A microwave photonic notch filter comprising: a modulator to modulate an optical signal with an electrical signal to generate a first sideband and a second sideband; a configurable optical processor to generate a modified optical signal by adjusting the power of the sidebands to achieve a power difference between first sideband and second sideband and by producing an antiphase relationship between light within two sidebands corresponding to the selected frequency band; an optical resonance to adjust the power of the first sideband of the modified optical signal corresponding to the selected frequency band by a resonance power adjustment to generate a resonance output signal; an optical-to-electrical converter to generate a copy of the electrical signal with suppressed frequency components within the selected frequency band; and a control unit to re-configure the configurable optical processor to adjust the power difference between two sidebands towards the resonance power adjustment.

    摘要: This invention relates to an apparatus for controlling weeds. The apparatus includes a tine formation adapted to remove or disrupt targeted weeds, and a tine support assembly adapted to support the tine for movement about a first control axis in a generally vertical direction between an engaged position wherein the tine formation in use contacts a ground surface for removal or disruption of targeted weeds and a disengaged position wherein the tine formation is substantially retracted from the ground surface. The tine support assembly is further adapted to support the tine for movement about a second control axis in a generally horizontal direction. The tine support assembly further includes a first actuation mechanism adapted to effect movement of the tine about the first control axis, and a second actuation mechanism adapted to effect movement of the tine about the second control axis. The apparatus also includes a sensing system for sensing aspects of an environment and generating data indicative thereof, and a classification system for identifying target weeds within the environment on the basis of the data from the sensing system. A control system is adapted to activate the first and second actuation mechanisms of the tine support assembly in accordance with a predetermined control logic thereby sequentially to position the tine for disruptive contact with the targeted weeds.
