The method also comprises scheduling a transmission on an uplink or downlink resource. The resource is located on a time distance from the switching point. In a mobile communication system with a shared downlink traffic channel, the mobile terminals in contention for the downlink traffic channel report channel conditions to the base stations. The base station schedules the mobile terminals based on channel quality estimates from the mobile terminals and selects a transmitter configuration. The transmitter configuration may comprise, for example, the antenna configuration, and/or power and code allocations used by the base station. The base station broadcasts the transmitter configuration to all active and inactive mobile terminals. Knowledge of the transmitter configuration by the inactive mobile terminals improves the accuracy and reliability of the channel quality estimates.

The method comprises the steps of identifying the position on the car and the orientation of the light arrangement from the first image, and of determining the type of vehicle on the basis of information stored in a database relating to the position and orientation of light arrangements on different types of car and the identification of the position and orientation of the light arrangement, and of identifying the position on the car and the orientation of the registration plate in relation to the identified position of the light arrangement from the first image in order thereby to obtain a unique identification of the said vehicle.

Printed circuit techniques and two-shot molding techniques are used to form a metal radiating element, a metal ground plane element, a metal antenna feed, a metal short-circuiting strip and metal capacitive loading plates within small antennas that are buried within transmit/receive radio-devices such a mobile cellular telephones. Balanced and unbalanced, single-feed, two and three band antennas are provided wherein the radiating element is laterally spaced from the ground plane element, to thereby provide an antenna having a very low profile or height, including antennas wherein the ground plane element and the radiating element are placed coplanar on the same surface of a PCB. A thin dielectric carriage on a PCB allows for the metal capacitive loading plates to be placed on the sidewalls of the dielectric carriage, to thereby provide reactive loading of a radiating element that is on the top surface of the dielectric carriage.
