A method is provided for noninvasive, continuous, real-time monitoring of a patient's arterial blood pressure using Doppler probes and a blood pressure cuff for measurement of a patient's systolic and diastolic blood pressures at a major distal artery and at the carotid artery or the middle cerebral artery. A continuous Doppler blood flow velocity measurement is used to generate a waveform signal correlating to a cuff's measurements of systolic and diastolic pressures. An algorithm generates calculated systolic and diastolic pressures at a major, distal artery and at the carotid artery or the middle cerebral artery as a function of the continuously measured Doppler blood flow velocities.

A sleep apnea diagnostic system includes a housing that is configured to be attached to near the nose of a patient's face to sense physiological information of a patient. The housing includes sensors to sense the physiological information. The physiological information may be, for example, air flow through the nose or the mouth or both. The physiological information further may be, for example, blood volume. The sleep apnea diagnostic system includes at least one processor in the housing or external to the housing or both to analyze the physiological information to determine whether the patient has experienced irregular or abnormal respiratory activity and to detect respiratory effort. The analysis may be real time or delayed.

A new high performing lithium ion cell having new carbon based anode and new dual doped layered cathode materials. The anode is a self standing carbon fibrous material and the cathode is a dual doped Lithium cobalt oxide of general formula LiMxNyCo1−x−yO2 (0.01≦x, y≦0.2) wherein M is a divalent alkaline earth metal cation and N is a divalent transition metal cation. Lithium ion cells of 2016 coin cells were assembled using the above materials deliver specific capacity of 60-85 mAhg−1 at 1 C rate and exhibit excellent cycling stability of 90-95% even after 200 cycles when cycled between 2.9-4.1V.

In a method of microcellular injection molding, a polymer and a supercritical fluid are processed. A condition of processing the polymer and/or the supercritical fluid is adjusted to control a weight of a plastic part and/or a surface characteristic of a plastic part produced. In another method of producing a plastic part using microcellular injection molding, a polymer is heated and melted and a supercritical fluid is added thereto. The resulting mix is a single-phase polymer-gas solution comprising the polymer and the supercritical fluid. The polymer and/or the supercritical fluid are adjusted to control the weight of the plastic part and/or a surface characteristic of the plastic part. Once adjusted, the melted polymer with the supercritical fluid is injected into a mold. Upon injecting the melted polymer and supercritical fluid, a pressure drop causes the supercritical fluid to nucleate in the melted polymer, thereby causing nucleation of bubbles.

The cross section of the first and/or the second duct (23a, 23b) is reduced in the direction from the first end of the duct (23a, 23b) towards the second end of the duct (23a). In this way a stable arrangement having an increased production capacity, and a better animal welfare is obtained. The stable arrangement is logistically arranged with short distances of transport during an animal's life cycle, and a cleaner living environment and working environment for animal and farmers.

The support comprises a support body having a first portion and a second portion, which are integrally joined. A top surface of the first portion serves as a supporting surface for the side covering and at least one positioning pin for connection with a window frame or sash member are defined in the support body. A fixing hole may be defined in the support body, said fixing hole being opened from the top surface of the first portion and extending into the second portion through the first portion. Supports may be arranged on extra side plates attached to the sash to support side coverings, so that the strength of the covering is efficiently improved.
