    摘要: A cutting tool (1) for widening the diameter of a borehole and method thereof is disclosed. The cutting tool (1) comprises a housing (2) having cavity (10) in which a moveable activation element (6) is arranged. The activation element (6) is moved in an axial direction and is connected to one or more cutting blocks via a mechanical coupling (15). The mechanical coupling (15) transfers the axial movement of the action element into a radial movement of the cutting blocks. An activation unit (24) pushes the activation element (6) towards a stopping position which in turn causes the cutting blocks (11) to move out of the housing. The activation unit (24) further pulls the activation element back towards its starting position which in turn causes the cutting blocks to move back into the housing. The cutting blocks (11) extend into one or more cavities formed in the activation element, thereby increasing the travel-to-expansion ratio. The cutting blocks can be replaced by stabiliser blades (20) which are used to stabilise the drilling in the expanded borehole.

    摘要: An agitator tool (1) for introducing forward and backward axial movement in a downhole tool of a drill string, where the agitator tool has a first axially moveable element (5) coupled to a second laterally moveable element (9) arranged inside a housing (2) via mechanical coupling. The mechanical coupling may be a pin and groove arrangement where the groove forms a modified or unmodified sinus shaped guiding loop that allows the first element (5) to oscillate within the housing (2). The second element (9) is driven by a turbine unit which may have flow regulating means. This provides an agitator tool comprising with very few moving and wearable parts. The shape of the groove sections allows an accelerated and/or de-accelerated forward and backward movement of the first element (5) that allows it to be used for various applications in a bore hole.

    摘要: An activation method and a mechanism (1) where a pressure or flow sensor (2, 3) senses the pressure or flow rate of the treatment fluid being pumped through the drill string. In one embodiment, the sensed pressure (2) is combined with a rotation sensor (6) sensing the rotation of the drill string. The controller (4) logs the starting time for the pumping and the rotation. The earliest of the starting times determines which operation mode or downhole tool should be activated.

    摘要: The present invention relates to an activation method, an activation mechanism and a downhole tool comprising the activation mechanism. The activation mechanism com- prises a pressure switch for turning power to the electrical components, a control unit connected to a pressure sensor for sensing the internal pressure of the drilling fluid located in a first fluid conduit. The control unit controls an actuator unit connected to a moveable valve element. The actuator unit moves the valve element from a closed position when activated. A seat for the valve element is arranged relative to a second fluid conduit so that the valve element closes the second conduit when it is placed in its seat. This provides a very fast and accurate activation method that involves the use of balls or RFID tags. Furthermore, the downhole tool can be activated even if no actual flow is passing through the tool.
