摘要： A scalable laser system providing a single, phase-locked output (13) which comprises a flexible bundle of single mode optical fibres (10) with the optically polished end faces at one end being index matched via matching material (12) to a single, partially transmitting, output mirror (11). The opposite end of the bundle is divided into a series of smaller bundles whose end faces are index matched (6) to the ends of a series of solid state laser media (1). These are optically pumped by remotely sited laser diode arrays (8) via additional bundles (7) and mirrors (3), which are 100 % reflective at the laser wavelength.

Computer control of the position of the laser beams relative to the face of a computer controlled adjustable pattern immersed in the liquid plastic allows for the hardened plastic product being produced to rest on an end face of the piston as the computer controlled laser beam profiling processes takes place within the liquid plastic.
