In addition, the apertures are configured to assist in the release of the cable from the aperture, when an impact force is applied to the post and/or cable. The system also allows for the release of the anchor-cables during a collision with a vehicle. The release of the cables is particularly important in situations where the cable-barrier is capable of acting as a ramp and/or snag during the collision.
