摘要: Methods and apparatus for providing a seal between two surfaces (130 and 150). Gaskets in accordance with the invention provide efficient and economical devices to seal spaces between two surfaces. The gasket (60) comprises a frame (50) for providing a rigid substrate to the gasket (60) which is formed into a shape substantially conforming to a shape of one of the surfaces (130 and 150), clips (20) interfaced to the frame (50) for securing the gasket (60) between the two surfaces, the clips (20) being interfaced to the frame in a corresponding relationship to a receiving aperture (160) in one of the surfaces adapted to fixedly hold the clips, thereby securing the gasket between the two surfaces, and resilient members fitted over the frame (50) such that the frame resides in an interior space of the resilient member (90) and the clips (20) extend outwardly through the resilient member (90) to be engaged with the receiving aperture (160) for filling the space between the two surfaces (130 and 150) and for ensuring that the gasket (60) adequately seals the space between the two surfaces (130 and 150).

摘要: Woven fabric sleeve (10) is comprised of interwoven glass fibre yarns or similar mineral or ceramic fibre yarns, and hybrid yarns or wire utilised as fill (weft) yarns (12). The fill (weft) yarns (12) preferably consist essentially of glass or ceramic fibres with resiliently settable polymeric materials and/or resilient formable wires or combinations thereof. The wires or hybrid yarns are resiliently set to form resilient hoops yieldably imparting to the fabric side edges a tendency to move into adjacent or overlapping relationship. In one form of the method of making a sleeve, the hybrid fill (weft) yarns (12) are resiliently set by placing the woven fabric in a folder, applying heat to cause the fill (weft) yarns (12) to assume a set in the wrap around or folded condition and then cooling so that the product is resiliently maintained in the set condition. In an alternative method of making the product, the product is woven on a shuttle loom and one or more wires are used as fill (weft) yarns (12). The wires are fed from pretensioned spools. The tension on the spools of wire imparts a resilient set which biases the side edges of the fabric into adjacent and overlapping relationship.

摘要: A braided product and process include a first sleeve formed of interbraided first and second yarns (11, 12) which may be continuous E glass yarns. Warp beads (14) formed by knitting or braiding are equidistantly spaced around the circumference of the braid and introduced to the braider to form an integral part of the structure. One or more heavy denier yarns (15) are loaded on carriers so as to cross the warp beads (14) under relatively high tension, forcing the beads selectively to the inside or outside of the sleeve surface so as to create longitudinally extending spacers which create air gaps between the sleeve and the surface of the substrate being covered.

摘要: An insulating sleeve provides for thermal insulation of a tubular heat source, such as an exhaust gas recirculation device. The sleeve comprises knit wire separator layers (12) and at least one metallic foil layer (13) separated from the heat source by the knit wire layer (12). One form of sleeve illustrated comprises an inner knit stainless steel wire layer (12), a foil layer (13) facing the heat source (10), a refractory paper (N) (e.g., rockwool) laminated to the outside of the foil layer (13), a second separator layer (16) of stainless steel wire and a coating layer (17) for absorbing vibration and for adhering an outer braided layer (18) of glass fibre. Additional layers, including an additional knit wire separator layer, are provided where higher performance is required.

摘要: Woven sleeving having integral tie cords for bundling and harnessing electrical cables and other elongated substrates is disclosed. The sleeving is woven by displacing catch cords a fixed distance from the fabric selvages and raising the catch cords at predetermined intervals to effect a looping of the fill yarn at predetermined intervals. According to the disclosure, the fill yarn may extend directly from the selvage or from points spaced inwardly from the selvage so as to create a tab area along the margin of the sleeve so that the sleeve margins overlap when the sleeve is fastened in place.
