摘要： The invention relates to a liquid (including pasty fluent material) dispensing system, especially for beverage dispensing systems in which the liquid to be dispensed (beverage concentrate) is contained in a disposable package. The package preferably comprises an inner flexible bag and an outer casing of cut and creased material such as cardboard. The casing is broken open so that a dispensing tube integral with the flexible bag can be pulled out and operatively positioned in the dispensing system. The said tube has shoulders adapting it for specific connection to a peristaltic pump in a simple and readily removable manner. The end of the dispensing tube is sealed, but is cut to enable the dispensing to take place. The tube is held closed at the point of contact with the peristaltic pump rollers and will only flow when the pump is actuated by a demand for the dispensing of the concentrate along with water to provide a beverage, which preferably is a carbonated beverage.

摘要： The invention is a beverage dispensing system wherein concentrated syrup and diluent are dispensed from a machine into a cup to provide a beverage. The syrup is contained in a package (36) which is removable from the machine and the package has an outlet tube (38) which is deformed by a mechanism (58) of the machine to open and close the tube for the dispensing of the syrup. At the same time the mechanism opens and closes a diluent valve (56) so that the diluent flows and syrup flows, in predetermined proportions, at the same time. The two flows of diluent and syrup emerge from the machine from outlets (28,38) which are spaced so that the two flows do not mix in the machine, but the outlets are sufficiently close so that they can be caught in the same cup to provide the beverage.

The package fits in a dispensing valve having a member displacement of which causes dispensing of the concentrate and at the same time supply of carbon dioxide gas to the interior of the package to drive the concentrate therefrom and cause a flow of carbonated water to mix with the dispensed concentrate to produce a carbonated drink. The invention concerns novel constructions of the package and dispensing valve.

The flows of pressurizing fluid and diluent are conducted through a manifold which is integral with the dispensing valves and the diluent tank and source of pressurizing fluid both being provided with quick disconnect couplings to permit ease of removal and replacement, the elements of the dispenser disposed on a base with the diluent tank and source of pressurizing fluid surrounded by removable covers to provide an attractive, compact and low cost dispensing unit. The package of concentrate are of special design so that they can be interchanged, will not leak when removed from the machine, and will open in response to machine movement.
