摘要： According to the invention, a passive ISDN adapter board is made compatible with a modem connected to the serial connectors by: a serial controller (1) known per se, as is normally used to connect an external data transmission device; an ISDN data transmission controller (2) connected to the serial controller and controlled by the CPU of the computer (4); and an ISDN connection controller (3) controlled by the CPU of the computer (4) and connected to the ISDN controller, without the need to use the INT-14-H interface for the evaluation process. This solution is based on the idea of simulating an externally connected data transmission device with the aid of the processor of the data terminal device.

摘要： State-of-the-art data transmission equipment, such as modems with standardized AT instruction set, generally allow various data transmission speeds from and to the data terminal. In order to obtain a process which allows high bit rates to be reliably recognized with small loading of the CPU of the data transmission equipment, the serial data flow runs through a digital delaying stage, the duration of the first bits having the value '0' is measured while the data flow runs through the delaying stage, and the bit rate calculated from said measurement is programmed into an integrated serial data transmission component. Also disclosed is a device for carrying out said process.
