    摘要: A method and apparatus for light transmission adapted for use in a reflective belt, safety vest, or similar devices requiring visibility of a bright and/or reflective material where a light source (17) of one or more lighting elements is positioned to transmit light along a self-supporting elongated light transmitting member (16) of a hot-melt adhesive thermoplastic material and a flashing circuit for the light source which includes a battery pack or any other power source convertible to D.C. voltage. The hot-melt adhesive is of a high clarity, highly flexible material which transmits light in highly visible manner within an elongated casement of material formed of a light-colored backing material and a front strip of translucent material adapted to transmit the light driven along the member by the light-emitting source. Any light-emitting source, either visible or invisible would be suitable for the transmitting device. Similarly, the casement of material, elongated members, light-emitting sources and circuit and D.C. power source could be mounted on either the front and/or rear panel of a safety vest where the vest is desirable for high visibility in darkness or dimly lit situations.

    摘要: An LED lamp for replacement of directional incandescent lamps. The lamp comprises a screw base, a plurality of LEDs located in a first position, and a driver for the LEDs located in a second position separate from the first position. A lamp housing is secured to the screw base, with the LEDs and the driver being located in the lamp housing. A heat spreader is mounted in the lamp housing in proximity to the LEDs to remove heat therefrom. The heat spreader can also remove heat from the driver, or the driver can be located in proximity to the screw base and in thermal connection therewith so that heat is transmitted through the screw base.

The activation device is composed of a receiver unit (10) and a transmitter unit (12) which are normally connected in tandem. The receiver unit includes a receiver (28), a battery source (30) for powering the receiver, and a switch (32) for activating the receiver by the battery. The receiver unit also includes a transmitter unit housing (38) which is shaped to accommodate the transmitter unit (12) and, with the transmitter unit so-accommodated, actuate the switch (32) to disconnect battery power from the receiver. Only when the transmitter unit (12) is removed from the receiver unit (10) is the switch closed to connect the battery to the receiver, enabling the receiver to receive signals from the transmitter unit.

An LED driver is configured to serve as a linear regulator/switcher, thus minimizing the need for the use of switched-mode power supplies, flybacks or pulse-width modulation (PWM) in LED driver circuitry. The direct drive is configured with a voltage source, a resistive element or apparatus, and a predetermined number of LEDs optimized to produce customizable features in relation to driver efficiency, power factor and regulation. When dimming circuits are used, an active region for the LED can be defined using a phase angle of the dimming circuit.
