    摘要: An adjustable skeg has a body formed by sidewalls including a closed bottom or base. The sidewalls converge to form a leading edge and a trailing end. The top is generally open and the top and sidewalls define a cavity for receiving a skeg or stub. The skeg may also be of unitary construction with the lower drive unit/gear case of a boat motor. The top and bottom portions of the trailing end project rearwardly to form extensions beyond a central portion of the trailing end. A torque vane is pivotally mounted between the top and bottom extensions. The vane is pivotable to subtend a preselected angle with a respective sidewall for eliminating steering torque. A plurality of receivers is positioned on either the top or bottom extension for locking the vane in place following adjustment. The receivers are identified by respective indicia for calibrating adjustment of the torque vane.

A low-drag surface (90) is included on at least a portion of the outer surface of the hydrofoil.

    摘要: A boat stabilizer that is attachable to the anti-cavitation plate or other structure of the lower drive unit of a boat motor without permanently modifying the structure of the anti- cavitation plate or other structure is provided. The shape and size of the boat stabilizer causes the stabilizer to effectively harness and control the thrust energy generated by the propeller resulting in improved thrust and fuel efficiency. Due to various features, the drag associated with the boat stabilizer is kept to a minimum. Finally, decals and other decorative elements are integrally embedded into the top surface of the inventive boat stabilizer using in- mold decoration ('IMD') technology which makes the elements resistant to ultra-violet light, virtually indestructible and highly appealing. A boat motor, a method of attaching a boat stabilizer to a boat motor and a method of molding a boat stabilizer having at least one decorative element integrally embedded in the top surface thereof are also provided.

The stabilizer comprises first and second lifting members (22,28) for positioning adjacent opposite sides of the drive unit and first and second arm portions (26, 32) for extension around the drive unit. The interior side walls (23, 30) of the lifting elements are spaced forming a slot therebetween for receiving the drive unit. The first and second arm portions (26, 32) are removably attached together and selectively movable toward and away from each other for varying the width of the slot, enabling the stabilizer to be adjusted to fit virtually any conventional outboard or inboard/outboard boat motor.
