    摘要: A wind turbine comprising a number of wind turbine blades extending substantially radially from a hub on a main shaft having a substantially horizontal axis is described. The wind turbine blades together with the hub form a rotor, which can be put into rotation by wind. The main shaft is rotatable mounted in a nacelle that is mounted on top of a tower, and the nacelle may be rotated around a vertical axis in relation to the tower so as to adjust the rotor in relation to a prevailing wind direction. The wind turbine further comprises a yaw brake comprising a brake calliper and a brake disc or ring having a first side with a first surface and second side with a second surface, the yaw brake, when activated, acting as a rotation restriction of the nacelle in relation to the tower. The brake disc or brake ring is provided with one or more grooves formed in the first surface and/or the second surface.

The braking system is particularly well suited for deployment in wind turbine constructions and is well suited for other constructions as well. The braking system comprises a hydraulic brake calliper (1) with a hydraulic brake piston (5) and a disc (7); the brake piston is moveable in a direction normal to surface of the brake disc to force a brake pad (11) against the surface of the disc. The brake calliper further comprises two elements (2a, 2b) protruding from a base element (3) and straddling a segment of the brake disc with a gap size there between being larger than the thickness of the disc, fastening means (6) provided in the base element for fastening the calliper to a construction, and a ledge (4). The ledge is provided in the gap between the two protruding elements at the base element, has a radial and circumferential extension relatively to the orientation of the brake disc and proceeds in between the brake piston and the fastening means to define a minimum gap size in between the two elements.
