摘要: The present invention relates to a medical device configured to form one or more holes within a bone of a patient, comprising: a handle assembly including a housing, a lever rotatably coupled to the housing between an initial position and an extended position, and a sheath extending distally from the housing; and a bone punch including an elongate shaft, a head at a proximal end of the elongate shaft, and a piercing tip at a distal end of the elongate shaft, wherein the piercing tip is configured to be driven into the bone; wherein the elongate shaft is slidably disposed within the sheath in a first position when the lever is in the initial position; wherein the handle assembly includes a linkage disposed within the housing, the linkage including an ejector block slidably disposed within the housing; wherein the head of the bone punch is releasably coupled to the ejector block in the first position, and distal translation of the bone punch from the first position to a second position causes the linkage to rotate a distal end of the lever away from the housing to the extended position.

摘要: A modular acetabular cup assembly includes an acetabular cup, and a liner seated in the cup. The cup includes an end face, an apex opposite the end face, and a central axis extending between the apex and a center point of the end face. The liner includes an articular surface having a center of rotation which defines a pivot point of the acetabular cup assembly. In certain embodiments, the pivot point is laterally offset from the center point such that the end face is located between the pivot point and the apex.

摘要: A trial guide for temporary placement on the distal end of the femur during a knee revision includes instrumented components that allow a surgeon to determine distal and posterior extension gaps for balancing the revised implant, and an adjustable stem component that allows the surgeon to translate a trial stem and rotate a selected offset coupling for the trial stem to ensure proper trial placement before the revision procedure. Fiducial markers can be affixed to the body or components of the trial guide to allow a surgical system to map the trial guide onto a reference frame for the surgery, such as the femur reference frame, thereby allowing the surgical system to update the surgical plan and assist the surgeon in implementing the plan for a revision the arthroplasty.

摘要: A surgical instrument and accompanying methods for preparing a patient's femur to receive an orthopedic implant having a curved distal surface is disclosed. The femoral bone alignment device integrates a femoral alignment guide and a posterior cutting block with references to establish alignment to the distal femoral bone. That is, the bone alignment device includes a drill guide for establishing alignment of a unicompartmental femoral implant and a cutting slot for preparing the posterior bone. Corresponding methods optionally utilizing installation of an IM rod are also disclosed. During installation, the femoral bone alignment device may be used to pre-balance the patient's knee to establish alignment with respect to the femur concerning flexion-extension and varus-valgus alignment of the unicompartmental femoral implant. Meanwhile, anterior-posterior (A-P) placement and Superior-inferior (S-I) placement may also be established.
