    摘要: A convergence free deflection yoke (20) encloses a portion of a cathode ray tube, including a portion of the cathode ray tube neck, and includes: a separator around which is wound a horizontal deflection coil (30) for providing a horizontal magnetic deflection field; a core around which is wound a vertical deflection coil (25) for providing a vertical magnetic deflection field, the core partially encircling the separator; and a rear cover (35) which attaches the deflection yoke to the cathode ray tube, the rear cover being disposed around the neck of the cathode ray tube and having a first side facing the direction of the screen of the cathode ray tube and resting against a rear end of the separator. Arcuate shunts (100 - Fig. 9), which are preferably "C"-shaped and have inside radii which are parallel to the neck of the cathode ray tube, are disposed on the first side of the rear cover, and are preferably centered on a first axis of the neck of the cathode ray tube, such axis being parallel to an axis of the screen of the cathode ray tube. The use of the shunts (100) is found to correct negative differential coma error introduced by the convergence free deflection yoke (20).

    摘要: To provide a multi-dimensional user interface for use in audio visual production, a display system including a central processing unit (CPU)(22) is coupled through appropriate input/output (I/O) circuitry (32) to input devices, such as a keyboard (38), a digital pad (36) and/or a track ball (40) as well as a display device (50). The CPU is further coupled to a hard disk drive (30) for the storage of programs and data, and is also coupled to a network through which the CPU may communicate with a variety of system resource devices such as editors, music synthesizers (55), graphics generators, scheduling resources, audio enhancement resources, etc. A user viewing the interface on the display may utilize one of the input devices, such as by way of example, the keyboard, to select, incorporate or otherwise integrate the various system resources to develop a unified multi-media production. The user interface includes a control frame (150) which in practice substantially fills all of the display screen of the display and is consistent for all user applications. The control frame is comprised of control panels (152, 190, 170) which surround a variety of subwindows (200, 215) and acts as a consistent control area for all users of the interface. Once defined, elements may be selectively placed on an event horizon bar (220) in the control frame. The placement of an element on the event horizon results in the display of timing data for the element, relative to other elements on the event horizon.

    摘要: A hardware implementation of a digitized image corrector converts a colorimetric representation of an original image into a new representation based upon the colors of the original and target images, as well as user supplied artistic parameters. The digitized image corrector receives digitized Red, Green and Blue input signals that comprise a colorimetric representation of an original film scene, and generates digitized Red, Green, and Blue output signals according to the specifications of SMPTE 240 M. The digitized image corrector is comprised of four identical hardware correction modules, which are coupled to receive correction parameters from an external source. Each module has a bypass switch for entering a bypass mode, which is used for reconfiguration of the module's correction parameters without affecting the output image. Each correction module receives digitized input signals and generates digitized output signals by transforming the digitized input signals according to a set of predetermined correction parameters and a transfer function defined by a matrix of functions.

    摘要: A video synchronisation and frame pulse signal generator (10; 80; 90) generates a video synchronisation signal (36), such as a video black burst signal, and a video frame pulse signal (40) indicating the presence of a video signal frame. The generator (10; 80; 90) is self-contained and computer controllable and can be connected as a subsystem within an existing personal computer having an open architecture (e.g. as a plug-in interface board in a PC-AT (trade mark)). The video synchronisation signal (36) can be used as a master synchronisation signal source within a video signal processing system (e.g. an off-line video editing system). The video frame pulse signal (40) is synchronised to the video synchronisation signal (36) and can be selectively gated (22) under computer control to produce an interrupt signal useful as a stimulus for software interrupt routines of a computer within a video signal processing system. Computer controllable switches may be included for programmably selecting among additional video synchronisation and frame pulse signals (e.g. NTSC, PAL, SECAM or HDTV), which can be generated either internally or externally, the selected video synchronisation and frame pulse signals being used as the master synchronisation signal source and interrupt signal, respectively.

The multi-item-type media player can play any type of disc media item. A media drive mechanism is included within the multi-item-type media player and is configured to play or record the media item stored within the multi-item-type media player. A computer system is built-in to the multi-item-type media player. A software based media player model executes on the computer system, and in turn, causes the computer system to implement a method of accessing the media drive mechanism. In so doing, the computer system interfaces with a plurality of devices coupled to the multi-item media player via an IEEE 1394 communications link of an IEEE 1394 based network and provides a standardized command set for the media drive mechanism. The media player model provides a set of standardized commands that allow the plurality of devices on the network to access the media drive mechanism and thereby access the installed media item and control the functionality of the media drive mechanism.
