    摘要: A waste collection unit (12) is provided for collecting medical waste such as bodily fluids and materials from a patient, and disposing of the medical waste at a docking station (14). The waste collection unit comprises a canister (20) for containing the medical waste and a carrier (21) with wheels (16) for transporting the waste collection unit between use areas, such as operating rooms, and the docking station. A vacuum housing (26) with a plurality of vacuum port (40) is provided for connecting to an external vacuum source to draw a vacuum inside of the canister and collect the medical waste from the patient. The waste collection unit also includes a sprinkler system (200) for cleaning the canister after disposing of the collected medical waste. The sprinkler system includes a sprinkler having a helical configuration in a cap of the canister for generating a cone-shaped spray pattern and a spray nozzle in a base of the canister.

The surgical saw blade (12) may be of various shaped and sizes, including, but not limited to straight or crescentic.     摘要: A neuromuscular electrical stimulation system provides a series of electrical pulses to instigate muscle twitch to aid in preventing the occurrence of deep vein thrombosis. The duration and duty cycle of the electrical pulses provided to a patient's muscle tissue is controlled to instigate muscle twitch without causing tetanic muscle contractions. The system preferably includes a single electrode that is placed upon each calf of a patient. The electrical stimulator device includes a unique housing (32, 34), and circuit board arrangement (80) that facilitate easy assembly without requiring any soldering connections between the circuit board, a power source (86), and electrical leads that are utilized to provide signals to the electrodes that are placed on the patient. The circuit board (80) preferably is made from a slightly resilient plastic material that is flexed from a disconnected position into an electrically connected position upon assembly of the stimulator device.

    摘要: An air filtration system (10) and a helmet (12) for use in the air filtration system are disclosed and utilized to filter air between a user's head and body and the external environment. The air filtration system and helmet include inner (18) and outer (20) shells that define an air flow channel (26) for channeling air to a user. A fan module (46) is mounted between the inner and outer shells and a scrool housing (48) which is mounted adjacent the fan module. The scroll housing (48) includes an air inlet (64) and at least one air outlet (66) for distributing air flow into the air flow channel (26). The helmet (12) includes front (76) and rear (78) air exits in fluid communication with the air flow channel (26) and the at least one air outlet (66). The air filtration system (10) includes a gown (88) operating as a filter for filtering the air.
