摘要： A child seat which a child can be easily placed in and removed from. The lower end of a crotch belt 16 is attached by means of a mounting fitting 17 to an attachment opening 14 in the front center of a seat portion 12 of a child seat main body 10. A buckle 18 is provided in the upper portion of the crotch belt 16. A tubular cover 20 made of rubber or elastomer is attached to the crotch belt 16. The lower end face 20b of the cover 20 is an inclined surface that is inclined upward toward the front. An extending portion 25 extends backward from the lower edge of the cover 20. When a tongue 13a is not latched to the buckle 18, the crotch belt 16 is free-standing in a forward inclined position owing to the cover 20. After the tongue 13a is latched to the buckle 18, the webbing 13 is tightened. The cover 20 leans backward owing to the tension from the webbing 13, and the webbing 13 and the crotch belt 16 fit the body of the child.

The stretch tether 6 assumes, depending on an expansion and unfolding status of the airbag 1, a first stage including transition from a slack state to a tense state, a second stage including stretching to a predetermined length while maintaining the tense state, and a third stage including being slackened when the driver contacts the airbag 1. The open/close device 5 maintains the vent hole 4 in the open state in the first stage, maintains the vent hole 4 in the closed state in the second stage, and shifts the vent hole 4 to the open state in the third stage.
