It is described an underwater anti-dragging system for acoustic receivers. The system comprises a metal alloy frame comprising a base (1) for promoting fixation to an underwater substrate, a storage cell (2), adapted to enclose an acoustic receiver, and a protective arched structure (3) inside which the storage cell (2) is positioned. Such configuration therefore prevents the system from being dragged by the action of external agents, such as bottom operating fishing gears and coastal waves. The present application also relates to a monitoring system, comprising the underwater anti-dragging system described and acoustic receivers.

The present application discloses a body support device for surgery with a dynamic support for the torso. This device stimulates the adoption of a more natural posture and provides the dissipation of the load placed on the bone and muscle structures in the spinal column through the combination of the torso support (1) to the posterior support (13). The posterior support (13) consists of the systematization of the human vertebral column, comprising a set of segments (13′) chained and aligned by the passage of an elastic medium (14) therein, controlled by the user's action. Thus, this technology allows for minimizing surgeon's physical fatigue resulting from a prolonged posture in surgery.

The present invention provides a method for the continuous production of semiconductor ribbons by growth from a linear molten zone. The creation of the molten zone is achieved by application of an electric current, direct or alternating, parallel to the surface of the ribbon and perpendicular to the direction of growth, and intense enough to melt the said material, preferably using electrodes of the said material. The molten zone is fed by transference of the material, in the liquid state, from one or more reservoirs, where melting of the feedstock occurs. Preferably, the said electrodes and the said reservoir(s) are only constituted by the said material, thus avoiding contamination by foreign materials. The present invention is applicable, for example, in the industry of silicon ribbons production for photovoltaic application.

The present invention belongs to the field of nanoporous materials, in particular metal organic frameworks (MOFs) and Lewis-based gas delivery and/or slow release, or the detection of Lewis-based gas(es) in gases or liquid streams. The present invention relates, inter alia, to a new ultra-microporous crystalline metal organic framework solid ( comprising bisphosphonic acid ligands (also refered to as Phosphonate MOF), such as MIP-210(M) and uses thereof as a carrier in Lewis-based gas (such as NO) delivery. The invention also relates to controlled release of the Lewis-based gas in wounds, for example by topical application. The invention also encompasses a synthetic method for producing the new ultra-microporous crystalline metal organic framework solid of the invention. The MOFs of the present invention can be used in various applications such as gas carrier and/or for the controlled release of gas. The MOFs of the present invention thus are very versatile and have therapeutic and non therapeutic applications.
