摘要: The present invention relates to a B-stageable silicone adhesive having microencapsulation. The encapsulated B-stageable silicone adhesive allows lengthening the assembly time between applying the adhesive and lamination. Although exemplified with silicone adhesives, the inventive encapsulated adhesive concept has potentially broad applicability to other types of adhesives.

摘要: The present invention provides electroactive polymer (“EAP”) transducers having improved properties. This improvement is achieved without decreasing film thickness, or by using high dielectric constant and high field, so that this approach does not adversely affect the reliability and physical properties of the resultant dielectric films. Mobile electrically active additives are added to the electrode formulation which significantly improve the performance of electroactive polymer transducers. Such additives do not need to be ionic. These electrically active additives can enable higher performance devices, smaller devices using less active area, lower voltage/power operation, and combinations of these enhancements.

摘要: A process of fabricating an actuator element is provided. In the process, a dielectric elastomer film having first and second sides is provided. An electrode material is applied on a portion of the first and second side of the dielectric elastomer film. A compressive material is applied to the first side of the dielectric elastomer film. The present process may be employed for producing improved monolithic actuator elements such as configurable buttons, arrays of buttons, and the like.
