    摘要: A display unit of a navigation system in accordance with the present invention is equipped with route search means (13) for searching an optimum route on the basis of position data, node data (21), crossing data (19) and road data (23) and reduced scale setting means (15), sets a reduced scale of a display map in accordance with the distance between the present position and the destination and selectively displays a road to be displayed in accordance with the reduced scale on a display (31). This invention includes also a display (48) for displaying a crossing graphics consisting of a starting crossing, a neighbouring road network and landmarks and touch keys (35) such as a decision key for drawing a travelling direction on the displayed crossing graphics, a rotation support key for rotating the crossing graphics and displaying it, and the like. The invention is further equipped with a data processing control unit (46) for reading the position coordinates of a crossing landmark to be displayed from a map data (53), rotating and enlarging the position coordinates, converting them to the coordinates of a drawing area set.in the display means and sending an output signal so that the crossing landmark pattern is drawn in this converted coordinates.

    摘要: A guide unit of a navigation system for outputting guide information to reach a destination of the invention includes an input unit (1) to which the destination and the present position information are inputted, a storage device (4) which stores the guide information, an ALU (2) which determines an optimum guide information from the input information from the input unit (1) and a display (3) which displays the guide information. The storage device (4) has a plurality of parking lot data at at least the destination and the ALU (2) selects the plurality of parking lots and shows the routes to the parking lots at the destination in the order of increasingly longer distance. According to this unit, even when a certain parking lot is full at the destination, the route search and guide to the next nearest parking lot can be made so that the driver can drive the car to the nearest parking lot.

    摘要: This invention relates to a vehicle navigation system including an input device (1), a CPU (2)- a display (3) and a storage device (4). The storage device (4) is a CD-ROM or the like for stonng the network data and information of each point as the destination or the present position and map data (10), a crossing list (11). a destination list (12), road data (13), a place name list (14). etc.. are stored therein. When the destination is inputted and designated by the input means (1), the CPU (2) interacts with a program stored in a ROM (9a) in order to set data for reaching the destination by means of the retrieval of a route corresponding to each point stored in the storage device (4) and stores it in memory such as a RAM (9b). In an embodiment. a non-volatile area for storing the starting point data (the east longitude. the north latitude, etc.) is disposed in the RAM (9b) and when data is inputted by a reset switch at the time of the inputting of the starting point, data in this non-volatile area can be rewritten. The data thus written is held until the reset switch is pressed again to input a location position and is not erased even when an ignition switch is turned off.
