    摘要： The present invention relates to a method of forming a container (10) having an upper end neck (14) with a cylindrical barrel for receiving a withdrawal instrument (25, 46), and having a collar (20) internally projecting at the lower portion thereof, and terminating with a stop (21) therebeneath to accurately gauge the penetration of the withdrawal instrument (25, 46), characterised by the steps of forming a mandrel for insertion into a parison which has been partially blown having an upper neck portion in which a stop is provided above the base of the neck, forming a friction fit ring from a recess in the mandrel and proportioning a radius and draft angle which permit the mandrel to be withdrawn from the thus-formed product without damaging the ring and stop but after they have been sufficiently formed to permit the withdrawal of the mandrel.

    摘要： An improved closure insert (20) is provided for throat region (14) of a blow-moulded container (10). This closure insert (20) is provided with a scabrous perimeter (28) and is permanently molded into the container throat region (14) during container formation from a parison. The resulting seal resists loosening or disturbance when off-axis force or torque force is applied to the closure insert (20) during container opening. The closure insert (20) can be a subassembly constituted by removable parts that provide a variety of access options to the container contents.

    摘要： A sterilizing method is provided for use with a container filling machine (200) having components defining passages through which a fluid product flows. In one method aspect, sterilizing steam is passed through the components until the components have been sterilized. As the system cools and the steam condenses, the system is pressurized with gas to prevent the internal pressure in the system from decreasing below the ambient atmospheric pressure. In a further method aspect, the sterilizing process is controlled in response to sensing the temperature of one or more of the components. In yet another aspect, a common source of sterilizing steam (242) is provided for being directed into the product filling system (216) and simultaneously into an associated process gas supply system (224) to sterilize both systems generally concurrently in a single pass.
