摘要: Embodiments describe electromagnetic shielding for wireless charging systems. A wireless charging system includes a transmitter coil configured to generate a magnetic flux, a receiver coil positioned coaxial with the transmitter coil to receive the generated magnetic flux, where electrical interaction between the transmitter coil and the receiver coil generates electric fields, a transmitter shield positioned between the transmitter coil and the receiver coil to intercept some of the electric fields directed away from the transmitter coil and allow the magnetic flux to pass through the transmitter shield, and a receiver shield positioned between the transmitter shield and the receiver coil to intercept some of the electric fields directed away from the receiver coil and allow the magnetic flux to pass through the receiver shield.

The portable electronic device further includes charging circuitry coupled to the inductor coil and configured to operate the inductor coil to wirelessly receive power and wirelessly transmit power, control circuitry coupled to the charging circuitry and configured to instruct the charging circuitry to operate the inductor coil to wirelessly receive power and to wirelessly transmit power, and a device detection coil coupled to the control circuitry and configured to detect the presence of an external device on the charging surface, the device detection coil is configured to operate at a different frequency from the inductor coil.

an electromagnetic shield positioned between the transmitter coil arrangement and the first shell;
an interconnection structure positioned within the interior cavity below the transmitter coil arrangement, the interconnection structure including a plurality of packaged electrical components mounted on the interconnection structure;
a ferromagnetic shield positioned between the transmitter coil arrangement and the interconnection structure; and
a conductive grounding fence disposed around a perimeter of the interconnection structure and between the electromagnetic shield and the interconnection structure.-

a plurality of standoffs coupled to the interconnection structure and configured to electrically couple the transmitter coil arrangement to the plurality of packaged electrical components, wherein the plurality of standoffs includes:
a first standoff configured to couple the interconnection structure to a transmitter coil in the top layer;
a second standoff configured to couple the interconnection structure to a transmitter coil in the middle layer; and
a third standoff configured to couple the interconnection structure to a transmitter coil in the bottom layer.-

The wireless power receiving module includes a receiver coil comprising a single length of wire wound into a plurality of turns, an electromagnetic receiver shield coupled to a first side of the receiver coil, a ferrite layer coupled to a second side of the receiver coil opposite of the first side, the ferrite layer positioned to redirect magnetic flux during the charging event to improve charging efficiency, and a thermal mitigation shield comprising a thermally conductive layer adhered to an electrically conductive layer where the electrically conductive layer is coupled to ground, and where the ferrite layer is sandwiched between the thermal mitigation shield and the receiver coil.
