Abstract: The present disclosure provides a method for wireless power transmission by a wireless power transmitter in a wireless power transmission system, and a device using same, the method comprising: receiving a configuration packet from a wireless power receiver in a configuration phase, wherein the configuration packet related to the wireless power receiver includes information about whether a function of out-of-band communication is supported or not; and transmitting or receiving a specific packet related to the out-of-band communication in a negotiation phase, wherein the specific packet includes information for reporting an operation executed in the out-of-band communication.

Abstract: Disclosed herein are automatically-configuring, universal wireless charging systems, devices, and methods for the efficient wireless transfer of power from a charging platform (310) to a battery of an electronic device (340). The charging system determines whether a proximity status indicates an electronic device is within a predefined charging distance from the charging platform. If so, the charging system automatically determines a charging power profile for a transmission coil for wirelessly charging the device, where the charging power profile is determined based on a wireless handshake protocol between the charging platform and the device to be charged. The charging system also generates a configuration message to control the transmission coil according to the charging power profile.

In certain other configurations, the magnetic flux device can include a first conductive structure including a first coil and a second coil enclosing a first area and a second area, respectively. The magnetic flux device can further include a second conductive structure with at least a first planar portion of the first conductive structure being substantially coplanar with a second planar portion of the second conductive structure.
