The invention relates to a method for preparing at least one unsaturated alcohol (B). The method comprises the following steps (I) to (III): (I) reaction of at least one alkali or alkaline earth hydroxide with at least one alcohol (A) in at least one organic solvent (L) so that a mixture (G-I) is obtained which contains at least the alcohol (A), the solvent (L) and an alcoholate (AL); (II) reaction of at least one carbonyl compound of the general structure R-CO-R' with at least one alkine of the general structure R"-CC-H and the mixture (G-I) obtained in step (I) above, so that a mixture (G-II) is obtained which contains at least the alcohol (A), the solvent (L) and an unsaturated alcohol (B); and (III) distillation of the mixture (G-II) obtained in step (II) above so that the at least one alcohol (B) and a mixture (G-III) containing the solvent (L) and the alcohol (A), are obtained. Said method is characterized in that the solvent (L) and the alcohol (A) obtained in step (III) are fed back to step (I) as a mixture.

According to the inventive method a) the reaction carbonylation mixture is reacted with hydrogen at temperatures of 150-250 °C and at pressures ranging between 100 and 300 bars, b) the precipitated catalyst is separated and returned to the cabonylation reaction and c) butyrolactone is obtained from the de-catalysed reaction mixture by means of distillation.

The invention relates to selected cyclohexane-1,3- and 1,4-dicarboxylic acid esters, to their use as plasticizers in synthetic materials and to their production. The inventive method of production comprises hydrating the corresponding isophthalic acid and terephthalic acid esters by contacting one or more of such isophthalic acid or terephthalic acid esters with a hydrogen-containing gas in the presence of a catalyst. Said catalyst contains as the active metal at least one metal of subgroup VIII of the periodic system alone or together with at least one metal of subgroup I or VII of the periodic system, applied on a substrate. The inventive method is further characterized in that the substrate is macroporous.

The invention relates to a method for preparing a catalyst through activation of a catalytic material comprising a) at least one metal from the first or second side group or one compound thereof and b) optionally a carrier. This catalyst is characterised in that the material is treated with an alkine of formula (I): R1-C C-R2, in which R1 represents alkyl, cycloalkyl, aryl, hydroxyalkyl, alkyl halide, alkoxy or alkoxyalkyl, R2 represents hydrogen, alkyl, cycloalkyl or aryl, as well as with a carbonyl compound of formula (II), in which R?3 and R4¿ represent independently from each other hydrogen, alkyl, alkyl halide, cycloalkyl or aryl. The invention also relates to catalysts obtained according to said method, and to alkinylations and aminoalkylations using said catalysts.
