Said method is characterised in that prior to polymerisation, one or more radical primers is/are dissolved in one or more ketones of general formula (I), in which R?1 and R2¿ are the same or different and are selected from C¿1?-C6 alkyl or C3-C12 cycloalkyl, whereby R?1 and R2¿ can also be covalently linked to one another to form a 4- to 13-membered ring. Said primers are then compressed, fed to the polymerisation reactor in doses at one one or several locations and subsequently polymerised at a temperature between 150 and 380° C and at a pressure of between 500 and 4500 bar.

The invention relates to a method for producing 1,2-diimine compounds of general formula (I) in which the symbols have the following meanings: R?1 and R2¿, independent of one another, represent alkyl radicals, aryl radicals or metallocenyl radicals; and R3, R4, independent of one another, represent H, alkyl radicals or aryl radicals; or R3, R4 form a cyclic radical together so that, including both imine carbon atoms, a 5- to 8-member ring is formed which can be saturated and unsaturated or arbitrarily substituted with hydrocarbon radicals. The inventive compounds are produced by reacting 1,2-dicarbonyl compounds with primary amines, whereby the amines are activated with trialkylaluminum compounds before being reacted with the 1,2-dicarbonyl compounds. The invention also relates to 1,2-diimine compounds of general formula (I), wherein R?1 and R2¿, independent of one another, are metallocenyl radicals. Finally, the invention relates to metal complexes comprised of compounds of formula (I) and to the use of these metal complexes as catalysts in a method for polymerizing unsaturated compounds.

The invention relates to a catalyst preparation suitable for the (co)polymerisation of Alk-1-enes. To obtain said preparation a metallocene complex is mixed with a C3-20-Alk-1-ene in an inert solvent and the resulting mixture is reacted in a controlled manner with a compound forming metallocene ions. The mixture obtained is diluted with an inert, non-polar, essentially aliphatic solvent. In addition, the catalyst preparation is possibly applied to a particulate substrate material.
