    摘要: The invention relates to a method for producing homopolymers or copolymers by the homopolymerization or copolymerization of radically polymerizable water-soluble and/or water-dispersible monomers, optionally with additional comonomers and optionally with at least one cross-linking agent, in an inverse emulsion polymerization in the presence of at least one redox initiator pair comprising an oxidant and a reductant, said reductant being 2-hydroxy-2-sulfinato acetic acid and/or the salt thereof. The invention also relates to: homopolymers or copolymers that can be produced according to said method; water-in-oil emulsions containing at least one inventive homopolymer or copolymer; solid compositions containing at least one inventive homopolymer or copolymer; the use of 2-hydroxy-2-sulfinato acetic acid and/or the salt thereof as a reductant in a method for producing homopolymers or copolymers; the use of the water-in-oil emulsion containing at least one inventive homopolymer or copolymer for thickening aqueous solutions; and the use of 2-hydroxy-2-sulfinato acetic acid and/or the salt thereof as a reduction component in a redox initiator pair comprising an oxidant and a reductant, to avoid induction periods in the inverse emulsion polymerization.

    摘要: In a process for producing a particulate polymer P with a mean particle diameter d50 from 0.1 to 50 νm, an emulsion E is produced from one or more monomers M which can be polymerised into the polymer P by radical polymerisation, water and at least one protective colloid SK under high shearing forces, and the emulsion E is polymerised in a reactor by using a radical polymerisation initiator RI. The process is characterised in that maximum 75 wt % of the emulsion E ('initial proportion of E') are initially fed into the reactor before polymerisation begins, and in that at least 25 wt % of the emulsion E ('added proportion of E') are only fed into the reactor after the polymerisation begins.
