Abstract:
A barrier coating, wherein a polymer layer having a thickness of at least 1 μm is applied to a support substrate selected from among polymer films, paper and paperboard and the polymer layer is composed of a copolymer which can be produced by ring-opening metathesis polymerization of (a) olefin monomers selected from among monocyclic olefin monomers having one or two endocyclic C-C double bonds and bicyclic olefin monomers having an endocyclic C‑C double bond and (b) polycyclic olefin monomers having at least two C-C double bonds, e.g. a copolymer of cyclooctene and dicyclopentadiene, is described.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a method for the adsorption and/or absorption of oil, according to which a polyurethane sponge with excellent mechanical properties is brought into contact with oil.
Abstract:
Method for producing polymer foams by way of targeted control of the morphology thereof through the use of microfluid processes, foams so produced and use thereof.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a biodegradable material in the form of a foil or film, said material containing a polymer. The polymer contains at least one porous organometallic framework which contains at least one at least bidentate organic compound that is coordinatively bound to a metal ion. The invention also relates to packaging for foodstuffs containing a material of this type, to the use of said material for packaging foodstuffs and to the use of a porous organometal framework for absorbing ethene in foodstuff packaging.
